I saw yesterday on MousePlanet that they think PoTC will be closed from sometime in May until mid-September! That would be bad!

Anybody else know anything about the rehab? pirate:

You might want to check out the Rumors board. I think this was kicked around there a while back.

The rehab schedule on Deb's site does not mention this. I would be suprised if they did a rehab during the summer for such a popular ride. As of right now I would not get too concerned about it. :)

Hope not it's one of my favorites  :Pinkbounc

Wow that's a long time to put a couple of Johnny Depp's here and there in the ride. I do hope that they dont change it too much. I always thought the last pirate at the end of the ride in the treasure room in the red jacket kind of looked like Jack Sparrow, too bad that they just couldnt change that for the new movies.

Well, our guide for a Keys the the Kingdom tour in early December told us that the WDW update is much smaller than the DL update. They are adding some audioanimatroics from the movies into the ride, but he didn't elaborate on where or how many. I think they are also going to do general rehabbing and maintenance too.

The link you listed refers to DL, not WDW.

The are going to update both, but the national press about the updates, which will run when the press for POTC movie sequel, will use DL because it's close to Hollywood (insert famous movie star) and it's a larger ride then the one at DW.

Bummer, my kids both loved POTC last trip...

I think the rehab might be pretty cool. Don't get me wrong I love POC but these changes might make it better.... as long as it does not destroy the ride, like the Tiki Room got destroyed. We might even have to go out and take a trip to Disneyland and DCA to check out all the new and updated attractions.

While I liked the movie I don't know if I will like changes to the ride. That's not really the point, though! :rotfl:

If the ride is closed in August I STILL won't know if I like the changes because that will most likely be our only trip for '06! It seems like in the past when MousePlanet has anticipated something it has turned out to be pretty accurate, so I am concerned that this will be, too. If the DL changes are expected to take 15 weeks then even if WDW is a lesser project it could easily take 12 weeks. That means if they start in May PoTC could still be closed the first part of August. I guess I should know by now that SOMETHING will be closed no matter what, so we'll just have to catch it on the next trip. :)
