...and now he's whining and doing his " clinging monkey " routine :rolleyes2 Talk about trying to make me feel guilty for leaving..... he hasn't let me out of his sight all day today without yowling. Looks like he'll be getting tuna fish for a loooong time when we get back!

Devilboy guarding the suitcases :rolleyes2

My dogs do the same thing, even when I just go out for a few hours. Drives me crazy! :guilty:

My cat is too funny. If she sees only one suitcase then she knows that means she is staying with my DH and she gets very clingy with me. If there are two suitcases then she knows she is either going to my moms which she loves or staying home with one of my friends. She is fine with both of those choices since both my mom and my friends spoil her to death. LOL but if its just me then she is in full on panic mode. Guess my DH just doesn't do it for her.

Mine just gets annoying when I bring out the suitcases. :scared:

Ours tries to "pack" himself into the suitcase :rolleyes2 Unless we are just going away for 1 night, he goes EVERYWHERE with us anyways. I don't get the suitcase stress :confused3

Cats are too smart. Don't ever get out the suitcases and leave your clothes that you are going to pack lying out on the bed while you leave the house. I did that once many years ago and came home to find them all covered in cat puke. To this day I believe that he did it on purpose to try to keep us home. I was up all night doing laundry so we could leave bright and early the next day.

And when I have to take them out of the closet, I shut the bedroom door. Than, I put them back IN the closet, and the night before we are ready to go, we drop the dogs off at the vet, and than I take them out again. :confused3 :rolleyes1

I warn my kitty several days in advance. I sit down & have a talk with her, so she knows what to expect. I really dont want to deal with her looking at me all traumatized, :crazy2: like I didn't prepare her ahead of time that I will be away for a few days. :rolleyes1

My cat sulks, pouts and glares at me when the suitcase comes out. I can't leave it open as she will climb in and refuses to get out! Attempting to remove her can be hazzardous to your well being. Once when I had to do several trip in two months, she got so mad she sprayed everything!

My one bird gets very upset when he sees the suitcases. He knows it means he's going to be locked in his cage forever. We don't bring them out into the living room until we are ready to put them in the car.

If I don't go running with my husky in the morning I get the follow and whine routine. I hate that. I feel awful. She does not get "days off"

Our cats are worse than our children when we're getting ready for a trip. One will go into hiding -- sometimes staying out of sight until we get home. The other knows that we will be locking them inside and will try to "escape" before we leave. When we get home, they curse (translation = loud, angry meows) at us for hours.

Our cat does that too. As soon as she sees us getting the suitcases out and packing, she jumps right in and makes herself at home. :rotfl:

We had a cat one time (Precious Mar. 1999-Oct 2003 R.I.P.) who peed in our suitcases she was so mad we were leaving. :-/

OH NO! I left mine open in my room!! :faint:

I totally forgot that the cat knows what the suitcases are for. Dog's still dumb - hasn't figured it out yet. ;)

My siamese will pee in the suitcases if I leave them out. She gets really mad we are leaving and will get revenge. If we come home, she has no interest in the suitcases...only if I'm trying to pack. :rolleyes2

I had a cat who would find the suitcases and then sit with his back to me in every room until we left. He come into the room just to turn his back. Animals are smart and funny!

My cat will give us those big round eyes and sit and tries to look cute so we won't leave. After he figures out that doesn't work, he doesn't really care anymore and eats. ( he eats all the time ) My cat is so heartless!!!! (lol, well sometimes. I've got to have the stupidest cat lol) But it's cute to see him sitting in the big front window when we come home.

The cat that I had growing up would pee on our suitcases if we left them out. The cat I have now couldn't care less if we go away. She enjoys spending time with her grandma :)

My cat does the same thing but he's not a siamese!!!

I have to "hide" the suitcases in the spare room, pack them in the spare room and always, always, always leave the door firmly closed. Otherwise, Henry the Cat will pee in the suitcases (or on them if they're zippered)!! And, like your cat, ours could care less about the suitcases once we're home.

Odd part is Henry goes to my Dad's country house when we go on vacation. At Dad's, Henry loves to look out and watch loads of birds, squirrels and bunnies from the huge ceiling-to-floor windows. Henry loves my Dad's house, so I don't know why we get punished -- he should look forward to vacation in the country!!!

Warmly,
Daxx's Wife

We're leaving on Friday, and I am not taking the suitcases out until Thursday. The dog will get all mopey and sad, and I just don't have time to deal with him, too.
