I wanted to share my conversation with my DD age 5. It made me remember what it's like to see things from a child's perspective.
DD: *sadly* Mummy, I'm never going to be a princess, am I?
Me: What do you mean?
DD: I'm never going to be a princess and live in a forest.
Me: You will always be a princess to me.
DD: But I'll never be a real princess.
Me: You are a real princess to me - Princess Jessica Rose.
DD: Mummy, I don't want to be called Jessica Rose any more. Call me Briar Rose now, OK?
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
Why do they have to grow up?
