I have been on hold with dining for an hour and 50 minutes this morning on two different phones. I'm already recharging the battery on one and about to recharge the battery on the other.

Either the call queue system is really goofed up, there are a lot of PS's being made this morning, or there aren't many CSRs in the center this morning.

Glad I got Cindy's yesterday.

Due to the storm I would be surprised if they had anyone there. I know I wouldn't be there.

I'm sure they are more concerned about the storm. I found this on Mousesavers.com.

Due to Hurricane Frances, please DO NOT call Walt Disney World regarding vacation packages, room reservations or Priority Seatings for dates after Tuesday, September 7. Disney asks that you leave the phone lines open for those who need to call regarding scheduled arrivals between now and Tuesday, September 7

I'm not complaining about the hurricane. If they want to shut down the center, that's okay. But if they're going to shut down, I wish they wouldn't leave the phone lines open. I'm going on 2 1/2 hours on hold now. I would have rather not gotten connected at all.

It's more of a game now waiting to see how long I'll be o hold.

You'll probably not get off of hold until Tuesday morning...The call center is closed, completely, unless they made one poor soul stay there. The official word is that it is completely closed, though...They may have left in too much of a hurry to forward the phones. It was probably just the last thing on their minds, sorry to hear you're having to wait so long, but I think it will just get worse today....

They have more call centers than just in FL. I was surprised when they said not to call, actually.

As Tinkbell posted, WDW has asked that you not call until Tuesday unless you have a vacation planned for the next few days that you need to rearrange. Yes, they have call centers in other locations, and yes they left the lines open, but that's for the people who have planned a very long time for a vacation this week that now has to be rearranged or maybe even rescheduled altogether. So they've asked the rest of us to leave those lines open so that those people who really need to rearrange things can get through. :D

DW just called WDW-DINE and wasn't even on hold a minute. I don't know what kept me on hold 3 hours earlier. I would guess they had a very high call to CSR ratio - either from an unusually high number of calls or running a skeleton crew. My guess is a probably a low number of CSRs logged into the dining call queue.

Not to get into too big of a debate here, but the centers are open and I haven't seen or heard anything from Disney asking people not to call. The official Disney site says nothing about not calling (there is a window popup about the hurricane) and the message prompts say nothing either (besides experiencing a high call volume). If Disney didn't want people to call, they could lock out making PS's past a future date - like they did last weekend for the system upgrade and postponing making Cindy's until the following day.

A satellite office (outside of the Orlando area) is being kept open to handle clients who are trying to reschedule due to Hurricane Frances and along with if they are rescheduling their room reservation and / or package reservation it would make sense to me (at least) that Dining via a satellite office would have to be kept open in order to reschedule dining that was scheduled with their room and / or package reservation.

by the way did you get your PS (or PS's) that you were on hold for long for?

The call center for recreations was closed today...wdwplay....it says due to unforecene circumstances.....

I did call dining this morning...and got the LAST ps for CRT!! So, the reality is...many people not "on the boards" don't know to "not call". If you don't call...you will NOT get elusive PS's.

Additionally, I called dining yesterday (at a more reasonable time), and asked if I should NOT call due to the weather. I was told by the CM on the phone that reference was for CRO ONLY, and also also advised that if I wanted Cindy's, and PSB...then I needed to call as usual.

In addition to Orlando and Tampa, there are dining call centers in Kansas City, Salt Lake City, and Houston. For these people, it is work as usual.

FYI...the queues are ALL messed up. DH's cell phone dropped him, so he called back at 7:25 and he got thru after 30 min. I got on at 6:58, and NEVER got thru.

I can echo this last post. I was told on Friday that there were call centers around the country that would be open this weekend to take PSs. I waited too long this morning to call, and missed out on 50's PT for the day I wanted, so I think there were a lot of people calling in.

Kteacher -- when did you want PT Cafe? I'm going at the same time. Tried to make them this a.m., but I'm a group and they couldn't help me. She assured me I wouldn't have any trouble. After I read your post, I called back and tried to make a smaller priority seating for 12/4. The castmember was puzzled, but said the system was not accepting PS for PT 50s on Dec. 4 and assumed it was a glitch in the system. I would try again.

As far as the debate, I felt guilty about calling and expressed that to the castmember. Her response was "that's what we are here for, and we are out of state." The CRO line does ask that people call back later. The dining line does not.

But, since group dining was closed, I still missed Cindy's. By the time I got through, Cindy's was gone. But since they couldn't do groups, I don't guess I could have booked it even if they had had openings.

Woke up early this morning to call for out ps and whoa tried to get a specialtyl cruise but closed did get through to central reservations lady was real nice and said she was in kansas and everything handled in orlando was closed probably till tues but she did say to maybe try tomorrow first thing just in case she mentioned something about a phone system upgrade which got interrupted by the storm god willing everyone in fla are well and with their loved ones

lorileer- I was trying to make PS for 50's PT for 12/4 as well- the CM was showing no availability at all for either lunch or dinner for that date, and this was at about 8:30 this morning. I was a little perplexed, because I've never had a problem getting a PS there, even during busier holiday times. Thanks for the tip- I'll try again. This is a special trip for me and my DS. He had a serious injury last Spring, and missed out on a lot of the end of the school year activities , as well as most of the baseball season. He really wants to eat here, and was disappointed when I told him I couldn't get a PS:(

I wonder if people call the 1-407 number if that call center is closed since it's in Florida but the 1-800 or 1-877 numbers are open since they are most likely the other call center locations?

Just called again, waited about a minute before I spoke to a CM. No availability on 12/4 for 50's PT, and she said she couldn't do anything about it:confused:

For those who didn't get PS for the ones you were trying for, I'd definitely try calling again on Tuesday. Maybe there's some kind of glitch due to the hurricane? I've never heard of 50's PS' being all taken at 90 days out.

Hope all the CM's are safe!

Steph
