Everyone keeps talking about AAA discounts. Is this only for people who have their insurance? Or do they just give out codes or what? How can I get one? I'm not going to go out and get their insurance though, but if they list out codes somewhere I would like to know where these codes are :)

You just need to be a member of AAA to get a AAA discount. No code, you just call Disney (for room only discount ) and ask if the room you are requesting has a AAA discount. I have used it for the last 5 trips. This next trip, I got a AAA rate for Beach Club and Contemporary Tower Magic Kingdom View. :goodvibes

So if I pay the membership price, which I think I saw was like $54 dollars plus a few other fees, am I probably going to get a discount? I don't want to just throw away over 60 bucks you know?

Also anyone know about how much of a % they give? Sorry I have too many questions haha.... if you use a AAA discount then say I get a visa pin number can I use that on top of that or no? Would I just have to pick between the two?

If you are booking in advance and not going during a peak holiday season, you should be able to get the AAA discount. I believe it is 20% off rooms rates, during value and regular seasons and 15% during peak season. If you only want to reserve a room, you can make the reservation yourself by call Disney directly. If you want to book a package, you'll have a TA at AAA make the reservation and then you will go through the TA for any request.

Ideas -
Call AAA, explain you are thinking about buying a membership for this purpose and ask if they can tell you if there are rooms w/AAA rate available for your dates and your resort choice.
Or call Disney... you will need to show the card at check-in but I'm not sure if it is required at the time you make the reservation.

You can only apply one (1) code to your reservation and can usually make changes as long as there are rooms available for your resort and dates.

Wow thanks, that is a ton of help  Great idea on calling AAA first and telling them about wanting to join for that reason and seeing if they will tell me about the room that I am wanting...

I do have one last question... if I book my package through AAA, first, will THEY send me all my stuff the month before the trip? And then if say a code comes out that I can get 30% off visa code or something... will I not be able to actually use that, since I would have booked through AAA, since they would be my TA?

AAA will send it to you, or if your office is close by, you can go right in and pick it up. Keep in mind that even if you did get a special offer from Visa, once you have booked with AAA and have their rate then that is it. There is no way to apply 2 discount codes to any booking. Your best bet would be to have the AAA TA run the numbers and see which deal is better for you. (I used to do this all the time for clients...9 times out of 10 the AAA deal is the best way to go for discounts.)

THANKS

then change if necessary
start with the room only!
