We are new to AAA and signed up mostly because the agent kept going on and on about saving for vactions such as Disney. We are hoping to go again in 2013. Has anyone here used AAA to book a Disney trip? If so was the savings greater than if you booked yourself.

We have booked through AAA. If there is a general public code or if you get a pin code AAA can apply it to your reservations. If there is no code available for the time you are going AAA does give some type of discount. I like it because I can send a pin code to my agent and not have to sit on the phone all morning.

I have always used AAA when going to Disney. They can save you money, however if you are flying, don't book your airline tickets through AAA. I found buying airline tickets myself through the actual airline is cheaper, plus you can get the times you want. AAA last time only offered me airline tickets on couple airlines and the times were horrible and the price was outrageous. So I went through AirTran. If you are flying and if AirTran is available at your airport, they are your probably best bet. But do check the other airlines for discounted tickets as well.

I have booked 4 trips with AAA. I use a Disney specialist and I would much rather let him deal with the headache of prices for me. The AAA discount is small, and I got a PIN for a better one, which he applied for me.

Some people don't like to use a TA, they like to do everything themselves. Not me. He watches special offers, and will call me if something better than what I have comes out.

Not all AAA agents are Disney specialists, but I think every office has at least one.

Oh, and he searched all flights out of the 3 nearest airports for me. I wound up booking a JetBlue flight for the same price I had seen online. SO much easier than trying to do it myself!

I personally could take or leave my AAA agents. Yes they can save you a few bucks on disney pkgs. but 90% of time I can do just as well or better myself. The perks you get with a vacation pkg. are of little use to me personally. The discounts are the same or worse than my Ap discounts, the Diamond parking pass is nice bonus but I rarely drive to parks, the storytime is cute but i'm an adult traveling with adults only. the vip fireworks viewing is ok but royal pita to book( at least mine was). I had to keep on my agents to check for discounts for me, I had to fix/hold their hand in making ME express ressies.
When new resort bookings opened and I wanted to switch resorts it was like a 3 ring circus production to get what I wanted which I didn't think was that diffcult of a request. I made my own dining ressies but they will do that for you. They offered to book my airfare and car rental with who ever I wanted but I did it myself just as easily or easier.
I find it an extra step to have to go to office/call give them CC for them to call disney and pay on ressie.
I booked my Sept ressie end of January, I havn't heard from TA since it was booked, not word on there is free dining for your dates, an email I'll be out of office until, nothing.
The only reason our ressie was booked with AAA was for free promo ears we got. For all the work I've done I might as well have booked pkg. myself and taken out middle lady.

We joined AAA this year mainly because it costs the same amount per year as the roadside assistance program we had through our cell phone carrier and I think AAA is a better roadside assistance program.

Before I booked my vacation MYSELF I had called a AAA agent and got a quote on a Disney package and with no PIN code or no public offer she was able to book the same package I was able to book but she could book it for about $110 cheaper.

However, you can't combine a AAA discount with a Disney discount. You have to pick which one is better for you. SO when I got a free dining pin code I just called and booked the package myself directly through Disney. I prefer to be in control of my own ressie.

I checked prices on what they offer Disney and Universal tickets for and the savings was only $3 or $4 per ticket. Nothing significant.
