What's the best way to get good rates on hotel, park tickets and airfare?

Last time we went there were so many options I freaked out and used a AAA agent just because it was easy, but I'm not sure if I could have gotten a better price on my own, or if the work involved in that would have been worth the lower price.

What do y'all do? :tink: :ccat:

I tend to do all of the research, get all of the information that I want, then use a Travel Agent to do the actual booking.

I like the security (false or not) of having someone to call if something goes wrong. Someone who is experienced in those situations enough to handle them.

Granted, I will check and double check and change and check things again, that my Travel Agent earns her commission, but she is really good.

I like having TOTAL CONTROL of my ressies...but I do check with AAA and another TA and disney websiter before I actually reserve a room to see which way is best. :wizard:

I would check out renting points through DVC (go to the DIS DVC renting forum on this site). I rented points for two trips (6/06--2 nights at BWV and 11/06 at WLV) and the cost is half what AAA quoted me for each trip.

Most travel agents charge a "ticketing fee" for booking airline reservations. (Usually about $20-25 per ticket). If they book the air for you, they should be keeping an eye on it to see if there are any price decreases or schedule changes.

Cancellation policy should be the same.

If you have booked directly through Disney in the past, you can call them and see if they have a discount code on your file under your phone number. Sometimes they have certain hotels discounted and on file.
