I don't know what happened to my reservation so I thought someone out there could help. I have a week at AKL booked and made the reservation through CRO. I called to change it to the AAA rate and got my confirmation in the mail today. It now says"AAA room only package" and has a new restriction stating that it must be paid in full 3 week prior to arrival. Did I get switched from CRO to WDWTC? Does anyone have any input on the change?

That's what sounds like has happened. I too, called this past week to get my AAA discount on my "room only" reservation. The cast member I talked to told me at the end of our conversation that my deposit will be deducted from the new total and that the balance would be due upon arrival. I would give them a call and check.

I had the same thing happen to me. I called back and questioned it. The balance is due at check in with a AAA room only reservation. Call back and get them to correct it and send you a new confirmation.
 
I have that also,but no where does it say anything about when the total is due,only what was paid(one night's lodging) charged to my credit card. It does say "reservation includes room and tax only" and "AAA membership card required at check-in for discount"
When I booked this room,I did confirm that the ressie was made thru CRO and NOT WDWTC. She assured me it was and I also said I did NOT want a package,I wanted room only. Again,she said that's what I booked and that the balance was due at check-in.
Why are there so many different confirmation letters???
Please let us know what happens!

Hi- I had the same thing happen to me last week- I called back to get a AAA rate and they sent me the same confirmation - room package only?... At the time when they changed it to a AAA rate they did not have on the confirmation that I was concierge, but they said it was in their computer. I asked them to please send me a new one with it saying concierge. It has not arrived yet. What is the differerence between the CRO and WDWTC? Thanks
 
Got the same thing today. It was AAA room only and the balance was due 8/28, we arrive 9/18. That's the first time that has happened to us. But on the cancellation policy on the back it says I have until 5 days before to cancel with no penalties, like CRO reservations.

It's a good thing I read it over b/c we have never paid in advance and always paid at check-in. I would have assumed it was the same way this time. I would have been quite upset if we checked in and found it was cancelled b/c of no payment. :mad:

I will give them a call in the morning and see what's up.
 
I called today and the CM insisted that it was still through CRO and that the balance was still due on arrival. I just don't like that the letter states it is due 3 week prior. She would NOT change it nor would she send me a new confirmation letter. She told me that since they had the deposit, they would not cancel it if I decided to pay on arrival. I am a bigtime worrier so I don't like the feeling that this situation is creating.

Hi, I'm with ya on the worrying!! I have the same situation as you, my ressie says,"room only package". Can I ask,did you pay your deposit with credit card or check? Where on your confirmation letter does it say when your balance is due? I have looked my letter over and over and over and can't find anything that says when its due! The CRO said its due at check-in but I'm hesitant to believe anybody I talk to there!!! I'm going to call again tomorrow morning and question the "AAA room only package " phrase again. I'll let you know what happens!

Can you call back and ask to speak to a manager? It sounds kind of ambiguous to me, and I would also be a bit worried about your inability to get an updated confirmation letter. It would be good to have some kind of written confirmation of the terms, so that you have it in hand at check-in in case of problems.

I just booked room-only at the WL w/AAA last week, and haven't gotten a confirmation yet. But I called again 2 days later and changed the view - still w/AAA rate, but of course our deposit amount changed. I presumed that, since the confirmation number was the same, the terms of payment would be, too. Am I an idiot? Anyway, I'll be calling frequently to see if a room opens up at CR, so I'll have plenty of opportunity to confirm :D

airhead--It sounds like your confirmation is correct. I wouldn't worry. Go and pay your balance at check-in.

jmcross--Do as I do whenever you get an uncooperative or unknowledgeable CM, hang up and call back. I know, why should we have to be subjected to that? Call back and request a corrected confirmation. The CM I spoke with about my AAA reservation was more than happy to send a corrected one. In fact, she added that whenever anything is changed or corrected, you should receive a new confirmation. Let us know how you turn out!

airhead-I did pay the deposit by credit card back in April so I'm sure that I have no recourse there. Also, it has the payment information deadline right on the front of the letter toward the bottom.
 
jmcross- I just checked again( for the millionth time!!) there is NO payment deadline. In the middle of my letter it states the amount received( one night's stay charged to my cc) ,under
"amount due" it was left blank.
My only problem with the word"package"being on my reservation is that, if and when discounts come out for "room only" reservations I don't want to have any problems getting the discounts applied to my rate.

I didn't even think of the word "package" affecting any further discounts. I'm going to call right now!

Okay, just called AGAIN!! The CM I spoke with said that the word "package" does appear but it does not affect future discounts from being applied. She also said that the person who originally applied my AAA discount did not do it correctly. She is sending me a new letter that will not have the balance due prior to my arrival.
I must say that I have never attempted to do the whole package on my own. It is quite challenging to say the least! These boards are wonderful to help you with every step along the way and I know that my troubles will be worth it in the end!

jmcross--So glad you got that resolved! I changed my original Jan. 04 ressie at POR to AAA rate at the end of last month. Now I will be watching for AP rates for that time period and will switch to that rate when available. We have 4 rooms reserved so we need all the help we can get! I watch and apply new rates all the time to our ressies. Just watch this board and mousesavers.com and you will get the hang of it! Good luck and the great folks on these boards will help you out!

I couldn't get it off my mind,so I did call and it will not effect any chance of getting room only discount but the reservationist is going to send me a new confirmation letter just for my own piece of mind(very nice!). I can totally relax now!!!!

If you don't mind me asking.........I was thinking of joining AAA to receive the discounts for room only reservations at the WL. How much of a discount do you really get?
