AAA room discount and free dining at the same time?

if i have AAA, can i book the free dining package thru them and get a AAA rate on the room and still get the free dining?

Nope.You can have either the AAA discount or the free dining...not both.

I used both last year. I made my reservation at AAA with dining then the free dining came out and my TA made the adjustments with no problems....

Even if you don't get the AAA rate, I'm going to guess that in most cases, families would be better off with DDP.

Especially if you're at the Value resorts... what are you going to save? $10 or $20 per night tops? And DDP would cost a family of four (depending on children's ages) at least around $100... simple math to me!

It'd be like you're paying $10-$20 total per day for the DDP for your whole family... do you really need to think twice about it?

According to mousesavers.com:

"In general, the discounts run as follows:

During Value Season you can get up to 15% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 20% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.

During Regular Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.

During Peak Season and Summer Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts."

I called my AAA agent the morning the Free Dining for Disney Visa card holders opened. She contacted Disney to make my reservations and had me on the phone at the same time. I specifically asked about booking with the AAA room rate and free dining together. She checked with the Disney CM and was told it was either one or the other this year that you could not have both. So, I took free dining.

It's not possible to "stack" discounts. AAA is one discount. Free dining is another. Though some agents do not seem to understand the reality which is that they cannot give you the AAA discount on top of free dining. Now an AAA agent can book free dining for you, but it'll be the same price you'll get going anywhere else.

Of course, AAA packages come with a few perks like the storytime in MK, the parking, and the discount shopping card.
