AAA rates for 2005

I have been waiting for the 2005 AAA rates to become available and can't believe I didn't catch this on the date the OP posted this. How dare home remodeling get in the way of my Disney planning!:earseek: Called just now, was on hold for about 15 minutes and was able to apply the discount (easily) to my Sept. 1-8, 2005 trip. I was asked for my AAA number. I saved 210.87 on my total package! HOORAY! Now more waiting starts to see if an AP rate will kick in. This will be my first time getting an AP and will work out great because I'm going back in August 2006 for 12 nights! This board is fantastic!! Hope you all get great rates and discounts!

I called yesterday (tuesday) and booked 2 rooms at POP Jan 20 - 23, but they said they didn't have AAA rates...
hmm, what's with that do you thinK?

I would call back today and ask again. Either the CM you got didn't know that the AAA rates were out or maybe they were already sold out for the resort you wanted. If they tell you that they're not out yet let them know that you know of other people that have gotten them for 2005.

I am new to this board as well and I am ready to book my trip through AAA for March. Is it better to do room only rate with them for discount and get plane fare and hopper tickets separately. the AAA agent told me everything would be "discounted" as they are getting you the "best possible rates". Also, once you book the room, is it possible to get a code (when they come out) and get the cheaper rate once it is already booked, or do you have to change the reservation totally to get that cheaper price, and lastly, do you have to purchase an AP to get these codes? or are you able to just go to mousesaver or these boards and "get the codes" without the AP? I know this is alot of info, but i'm totally getting nervous and psyched at the same time.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Just saved $484.00! Poly GVC August 2005

I was not asked for my AAA#.

Hmm...now thinking of upgrading to LVC:tongue:

I have not joined AAA yet, but actually mentioned to DH yesterday about joining because my car is getting older and I think I might want it in case it breaks down etc. Do you think it is worth it for the discounts at Disney resorts or do you think you can get better rates by just waiting for the codes to come out? I was hoping to get cheaper rates than these. I am thinking of booking one of these resorts now and hoping for a better discount to come out later. We do not have AP's.

I'm wondering the same thing, too. I just went to AAA's website and it will cost me $54 to join. I'm wondering if I can get better or the same as AAA rates waiting for codes or postcards to come out next month for our January trip.

alicenwonder99,
The only time AAA is the best to use is when there is NO other codes/discounts.
I would visit a local AAA office and look into their other discounts,(local movie theaters, attraction tickets, travel info, insurance, etc)
These combined w/ the towing make being a AAA member easy for me. One tow a year and it is paid for. On the years when we will vacation I always book w/ the discount myself and then keep an eye out to beat it. This way I'm guaranteed a discounted room.
Keep an eye out for mailings/offers from them as you can become a member for cheaper than $54, often with family members included also.

I'm looking into AAA though because i am not an AP holder nor do i want to be as this is a once in a long time trip and i'm wondering if these discounts or codes ever come out for people who book without being an AP holder.

Not sure exactly what you mean by 'come out', but I usually only get a membership in AAA when we are traveling by car that year. I usually save enough to cover the membership cost with 2 or 3 nights in a hotel. Everything else is icing on the cake. What I really like about Disney vacations is that I can book AAA rates long before any other saving are out. That gives me some saving incase nothing else comes along. Depending on what resort you book, it may only take one night at Disney for you to break even. You still have your membership for a year with all of it's benefits.
