AAA rates for 2005

I got the AAA rate for our next visit.

Arriving June 11 and departing June 20, 2005 (regular season) GVC Polynesian Resort $456.04 p/n (tax inclusive)--rack rate was $509.60 (tax inclusive) p/n. :earseek:

I'm with the rest of you--watching for airfare (and I may have found that at around $200 p/p) and hoping for some AP rates that I can get this year (although I'll settle for any other discount bone WDW would like to toss my way ;) ).

BTW, I had to insist to the CRO agent that the AAA rates for room only were out beyond 2004. She insisted they were not. She indicated (and she was very, very nice about it) that she had a little button on her computer that she could push to bring up AAA rates and they weren't out yet. When I started quoting rates to her, she said let me look for a code--she found it and admitted that the rates were indeed in the system. For some reason, however, the rates aren't showing when she toggled her AAA button. Go figure. . .she did thank me for giving her an education today! :p Hopefully that will help someone else down the line.

I was able to get them for our January stay at Pop Century. We are going Jan. 8 - 11, and we have two rooms. The total for both rooms together is now $408 instead of $515. Not bad--save $107 with one phone call. :)

We weren't able to get the AAA discount for our Dec. 2005 stay at Contemporary 14th floor concierge. I'm not surprised though, as I had heard that they don't offer AAA discounts on those rooms. I figured it was worth asking though. :)

Well, I'm not sure if you HAVE to be a member when you make the reservations- all I can tell you is that the CM didn't ask me for my AAA membership number when I made the reservation. I had the card sitting out and ready, but all I did was ask him if there was a AAA discount for my dates and he looked them up and found them, then booked me with those rates without asking any other questions. Hope that helps! :D
They asked me for mine today but haven't in the past. I think it depends on the CM. For our last trip a supervisor I spoke to (due to a mix-up with my reservation) told me there isn't anywhere in the system to put the AAA number anymore. Maybe some CMs just want to "hear" a number.

That's interesting, Lisa- that's what I was expecting to happen, too, so I made sure my card was out when I called. Then he didn't ask for the number. I guess it's best to be on the safe side and have a membership signed up for when you call- unless you like living on the edge :teeth:

They got me AAA discount for my April '05 trip.

GF lv: $556.33 inc tax p/n. Down from $618.82. Total savings: $374.92. I'll take every bit there is to justify my dream trip to DH :jumping1:

With DU you have to supply your AAA card number. BTW my DU agent e-mailed me this good news last friday, my they get an early heads up on discounts, I don't know but I'm glad I'm using them! :teeth:

It took 4 calls starting on Aug.20th but the fouth call was a charm. DH was able to reserve POP for May. 21st- 26th for AAA rate of $104.81 per night for preferred view. that was a savings of $118.56 for our visit.

I just called and saved $178 for my January trip to Pop Century. Now we just have to wait and see if Ap's will apply also!! I was asked for my AAA number. These boards are terriffic!! I haven't checked in awhile, but I'm sure glad I did this morning! Thanks!!

I'm so glad the OP started this thread! Dh is on the phone right now booking our AKL Concierge nights for next August. At first the CM insisted the AAA rates weren't out yet, but dh assured her they were, so she checked again and lo and behold, there they were! :)

ETA: Rack rate was $435; discounted rate was $369 :teeth:

It took me 2 calls, but I got it. The first CM refused to even look. She insisted that they were not out. The second CM already knew that the AAA rates were out.

8/26/05 - 9/3/05 - Fort Wilderness
Preferred site went from $51.00 to 40.00 per night. That's over a 20% discount. :earseek:

Hey-thanks for posting the rates.
The first time I called, I was told the rates are not out.
I called back right away and had the discount applied.
WL Woods view 2/11 and 2/12 was $512, now $435.00.
Yippee!!!

Hi,
I reserved 3 rooms at Coronado last week for
Jan. 29th- Feb.6th, 2005.
I was told AAA rates were not out yet for 2005 ,
to try back in Sept. and AP rates probably
wouldn't be out till sometime in Oct. for Jan./Feb.

I saw that some of you had gotten AAA for next year,
so I tried calling this morning for AAA rates to be applied.
I was told they only had up to Dec.

Do different resorts get them at different times?
Has anyone gotten them for next year at CSR yet?

I've never applied AAA before, just AP,and I thought
the rates came out for all resorts at the same time.

Just wondering If I should try back later today and ask another CM to look again or wait a few more weeks?

WE are taking two of our Sons/DIL's and our two Grandsons' for their FIRST TRIP to "Mickeys' House".

We are so excited, but I reaalllly need these discounts this time, LOL
(Rack rate at Moderates during "Value" season is $149.41 w/tax per room)
I 'd rather spend my money indulging the kids than on the rooms;)

Any opinions, advice greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Marilyn

call them back and keep calling until you get someone to look up the rates for you they are out. they should apply it for you, don't wait too long or the rooms at the discount will be gone, post when you get ther rate.. Good luck!!! Jillpirate: princess: princess: princess: princess:

This morning I was able to get the AAA discount for POR for our February trip! We went from $134/night to $107/night (not incl. tax).

Thank you. I love these boards!

I did call back and asked another CM.
She said,"sure, let me just look up your dates" and applied the rate for me.
She also told me not to hesitate to call back and modify them again when the AP rates come out, tho she didn't know when or would confirm Oct. for Jan.-Feb. dates ;D

I really should have known to just keep calling after all my years on the board here, but I had never done AAA rates and wasn't sure if all the resorts would have them at the same time.
BTW, she did take my AAA membership #, date of EXP., and name on card.
So, I now have my 3 rooms at $107. per nt.,plus tax =$119.29 nt.
A savings of $721. over 8 nts. from rack rate.!!

Yippee!!!

oh, an FYI, I was told that the reason the AP rates were slow coming out for this fall, was that they were waiting to sell the "Dog days of Summer deals???" first.
I'm assuming thats the code for the 8/29-9/29 low rates or maybe it's a postcard marketing deal?

Anyway, thanks again.
Hope everyone here gets great rates!!!

Called CRO this am to apply the AAA rate to my ressie for February 2005.
Needless to say, I was on the phone for 40 mintues, with a CM who had no idea what I was talking about, but who was also so sweet and nice that I couldn't hang up on him and call back! :)
After 40 minutes of back and forth with AAA rates, he was finally able to apply to my Poly Concierge reservation and it took $35 off of rack rate.
I was happy to save the money!
Just wanted to share my experience :)
THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW THAT THE AAA RATES WERE RELEASED!! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Just booked 2 standard rooms at CSR for July 2005 using AAA. At first CM said the rates weren't out yet. I told her I believed they were - I know ipeople that have booked already. She put me on hold and came back and said yes she did have rates for CSR. She was nice. She said I needed to have my AAA card at check-in but didn't ask for any info over phone. Other than getting by dates she didn't ask any other info - like how many were in my party or ages of those in rooms. The conversation was short and sweet. BTW - the room was 126.00 before tax.

I have a question...do most of you guys with AAA have AP's as well? Do you book room only rates or can you apply the AAA to the Dream Maker packages?

Thanks for your help!!
