AAA Perks? Parking, Lounges?

Hello -
As a AAA member I've of course looked at the option of buying tickets for our upcoming Disney World vacation through AAA. Their prices are competitive and they offer a few advantages. It's these advantages I need more info about :)

The first is AAA Diamond Parking - you still have to pay for parking but we'd have a voucher to park close in the AAA parking lot (or section? or row(s)?). Is this a nice edge? Is it a lot closer? Does it fill up so quickly that it doesn't matter? Do people park there that aren't suppose to? Do confused AAA Members that may not have the voucher think they can just park there by simply being a member so it fills up even faster?

Also - AAA VIP Lounges at the parks. Just at Disney World? Just one - or are their more? I believe these are air conditioned rest areas basically for AAA members, or possibly you have to have purchased tickets through AAA to gain access, voucher required or just AAA card? Can someone please confirm ANY information about this area. Is it nice, crowded, etc...???

Any info on either or both subjects will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance :)

Scott

The AAA lounge is only for people that have purchased AAA vacation packages.

I haven't used the AAA parking section, though we once had a voucher that we got with a AAA PH purchase. But we went during one the of "blackout periods" so it was useless. The lots are in a prime location, but I don't know how fast they fill up on average.

There is only one AAA lounge. It is in MK in Tomorrowland. You get avoucher for one visit. Each person in the party can get a can of coke and sit and relax a while in the air conditioning. If everybody who is part of the reservation is not with you at the time you use the voucher, they lose out.

The diamond parking typically fills. It depends on a lot of factors how soon. I don't know how closely they check to see what cars are parking there. We always try to have the parking pass on the dashboard. The lots are typically by the handicapped parking. This means there is no tram servicing the lot. its close. But it is a walk.

There usually is less walking if you park in the regular lots serviced by the trams. However, you will get to/from your car faster in the AAA lots.

When we were there from July 2nd - 15th we used the diamond lots every day (even on July 4th at MGM which was to have been a blackout day) we went to the parks, and never once encountered a full lot the whole time we were there, no matter what time of day. We found the voucher to be a wonderful perk, not having to wait for the parking lot trams at the end of the night was another bonus.::yes::
