I received a parking ticket from aaa when i got my park tickets. They say there is a special section which brings you up close to entrance. Has anyone used this and how close does it really bring you?

I can only really remember Magic Kingdom, but I know it got us to the first row closest to the transportation center. I think we had to walk down the row a little bit because the closest spots are reserved for handicap, but it was just a short walk to the monorail. It was nice not having to deal with the tram.

After the spots are taken...you are out of luck. So if you dont get there early, you may be parking in the regular lot. I believe it is along side of the handicapped parking area.

Do you have to get your park tickets from them toget the parking pass? We're AAA members.

We very rarely found it full. It was so worth it to not have to ride the tram with the kids and stroller.

Every time we have went the spots fill up. I can't remember which park but when we got there it would have been closer to do regular parking than using the aaa.

It varies from one office to the next. Some make you buy a package, some make you buy tickets, and I have heard some will give you one for being a member.
I checked with my local office before our trip (and we had purchased YES tickets already) to see if I could get one just for being a member. I was told I had to purchase a package. Check with your office and ask.

I have another AAA diamond pass question. Last year I got my pass with my paperwork from the AAA office. This year, they told us we'd get it when we check in at the resort. Did they change the process or do we need to go back and talk to them?

I just got the pass in the mail when my ticket came. I bought a single ticket no packages or anything

Yes...some purchase is necessary be it a package or tickets. If someone got them without a purchase it, more than likely, was a mistake made at the store level.

Ours offered them to us for free. We did not purchase a package or tickets through them.

I used to work at AAA and it does vary by club. The office I worked in had a stack of them in the drawer and would give them to any member who asked for them. A few other clubs would require a ticket or package purchase. Check with your own club to know for sure.

I've used it at every park except Epcot. I think it gets us closer although my DH is not so sure. Let's just say, we've never had to use the tram. When you go through the toll booth at each park, just show your AAA parking pass and they'll tell you to follow the blue line. Easy peasy.

I purchased hopper tickets at our local office and she gave me 2 because we will have 2 cars. I didn't even need to ask for them, she just gave them to me.

We use it and love it. It's called Diamond parking and all you need to do is follow the blue line around and yes it gets you very close. AK is one place where they will tell you at when you pay to park that its filled, and that is not true. Just follow the blue line and make sure you have the pass out to show. The only place we had problems was Hollywood Studios which has it with the handicap parking, but just look for a spot that doesn't have the handicap sign.

Best reply yet! I didn't know that individual AAA stores had the ability to have their own policy regarding that. Sorry, if I misinformed!

I also can understand that people with little kids and strollers would want to avoid the trams. To me going to a Disney park and not riding the tram is a loss of an important part of the experience. I have found that on occasions when I was forced to use Handicapped parking, I had to walk further to get to the entrance (especially MK) then I did when I could use the tram. All a matter of personal preference.

Thanks everyone!!! I'll have to find out from one of my locations for our January trip...

FYI - the blue painted line leads to handicapped parking, which is sometimes full (especially at the first lot at Epcot and at the Studio). So, only follow the blue line if you are told to (just blindly following can lead you to a full lot).

The handicapped parking spots not all marked with signs. Many are marked with blue paint separating the spots and don't have a sign. So, if you see a sign OR blue paint, don't park in that spot unless you have a valid handicapped parking permit. The lots are patrolled and they do ticket.

So to get to the AAA parking, do you always follow the green lines at all the parks?

And who is the best person to tell/show your AAA pass to - the CM at the parking booth or the first CM in the lot that you come to? I think I remember at MK that the "turn off" for the marked lanes comes right after the booth, so it's easy to miss and then you're in the regular lot.

Thanks!
