We are AAA members. It's just that we have both APs and DVC, so we no longer book our WDW stays via AAA.
I'm also a AAA member (as well as DVC and AP), but I don't feel that I am eligable for parking passes if I don't buy tickets or make reservations through them. Just because you are a member doesn't automatically get you perks. Most offices want you to book with them..plain and simple. And they reward those who book with them with little 'freebies'.We are AAA members. It's just that we have both APs and DVC, so we no longer book our WDW stays via AAA.
Here's the thing....AAA parking passes are a 'perk', extended to those who book using AAA...be it for resort reservations, a package deal, or just tickets..up to each AAA office to make it's policy.
According to the AAA pass itself, these are non-transferable. They are not for sale. They are good for the person AAA gave it to....no one else.
Now...before anyone comes along and complains that we aren't allowing people to be nice to each other and what harm does it do....it is against AAA rules to share these passes. So....we are going to uphold that policy and recommend that people don't do it.
If you are a AAA member, go to your local office and ask if they have an extra one to give you. I went to one and they said no unless i buy tickets from them. I then had to go to another one for something else and asked anyway and they gave me one.
Too bad AAA can't make 'em out of some substance that dissolves after the original recipient's vacation endsgoofy4tink said:According to the AAA pass itself, these are non-transferable. They are not for sale. They are good for the person AAA gave it to....no one else.

I really wish they would just have a program where you were able to get your AAA parking permit with your name and dates on it...printed at the AAA office. That really wouldn't be all that difficult to do. Then, when you parked you would have to show your AAA card as an ID...or room key at least. The names would have to match. That would do away with the vast majority of the abuse.
You know, that's entirely reasonable.I really wish they would just have a program where you were able to get your AAA parking permit with your name and dates on it...printed at the AAA office. *I don't mean dioxide45 is starting an argument, just that s/he is presenting one or more reasons why goofy4tink's suggestion may not work.

I have to agree. While it's nice, it certainly isn't 'all that'. I did ride with someone who has a AAA parking pass last Sept. And we were able to use it every time, in every park. There were spots open. But, I have to say.....the spots we got weren't all that much closer to the park entrance than 'regular' parking. It's just not all that big a deal.Is there an underlying assumption here that the AAA parking areas are filling up or hard to get into? I've used the pass on my last several trips and have never had any problem whatsoever getting a space.
In fact, while I use it, I don't see the huge benefit. Most of the time it's in an area where the tram doesn't stop so the only option is to walk, which cuts into any time savings. To me it isn't a big deal (and like I said, I still use the pass), but I often think the pass is overrated.![]()

I don't particularly care what CMs do about checking or not checking. All I know is that according to AAA, these passes are not transferrable and they are not for sale. So...here, on this board, there will not be any discussions about passing them along to someone else. That is AAA's policy and one that will be supported here.
