My AAA said they would give us the parking passes if we buy our tickets through them. I asked them when the parking black out dates were and they do not have a current list for 2003. Does anyone know what the dates are? They said last year the only week in March that was blacked out was Easter week. We will be going March 22nd-31st.

This is news to me, I had no idea there were blackout dates for park passes.

Anyone?

Speaking of which- we are going in a few weeks and still have our AAA Diamond parking pass - is it still pinkish in color?

The one I picked up from AAA today just shows the 2002 black out dates so I will post those dates.

2002 dates
1/2 , 3/24-3/31, 4/1-4/6, 4/19-4/20,4/26-4/27, 5/3, 7/1-7/7, 9/6-9/7, 9/14-9/15, 10/18-10/31, 11/24-11/30, 12/1-12/31 those were the MK dates, Epcot was 12/31 and MGM was 12/15-12/31 and no black out dates for AK. I'm thinking dates for 2003 should be similar. There is no exp. date on the certificate.

The paper is pink with Diamond Lot written on it.

Hope that helped.

Thanks Judi - this helped a lot - we used the diamond parking lot a few months ago and hoped the ticket was the same one. Caroline

Just told my cousin who is a FL resident and AP holder about getting a AAA parking pass and she said had never heard of this.

I can buy a AAA PH for $15 more a PH over my husbands Military price. Should I do this to get a Diamond Parking pass? How does this help? Is there a special lot or something? We will be park hopping in the middle of the day, will this help? We are going March 5-8th do you think there will be a black out then?

Any info appreciated!:(

Only you can decide if it is worth $15. AK they park you at the end of the lane so that you don't have to walk all the way down to the tram. Epcot was very nice. You were pretty much right in front of the park entrance. If you walked out of the parking lot and into the park you were all the way to the left side of where you buy the tickets. At MK you were in the handicap parking area and at mgm you were in walking distance to the entrance so that you did not need a tram. If you think about it, if you don't have the pass, the parking is not that bad because you have the tram. It is only bad when you have to park all the way at the end of the lane. If you decide to go with AAA when you enter the parking areas ask the person collecting the money where you would go. We made the mistake of waiting until we reached the people parking you (at mgm) and we were told to exit the park and come back and go another way. What a waste of time.

I just talked to AAA about my trip and she said that the new parking pass just arrived at their office. Just wanted to let everyone know that there will be a new one for 2003. Don't know if you can get away with using the 2002.

I just wanted to mention that the AAA parking pass does not give free parking (that is a frequent mis-conception). It only gives a more convenient place to park.
I had read in the paper that AAA is starting to put dates on the parking pass to correspond to the dates of your vacation, so the passes can't be used over and over. Also some AAA will give them out if you buy tickets; others say you have to purchase a complete vacation package.
