AAA package vs. Disney package

I have a AAA rate for PO-FQ right now for December 2-11 and the rate is better than Disney's for the same time period. I am thinking about adding the dining plan and getting a package so I priced a package on the AAA website and through the Disney website with the same details, 9 day hopper tickets and standard view room and the prices came up exactly the same. I thought AAA would have been cheaper? Or is it the same because disney gives you a discount with a package??

Thanks, Amy

I am guessing that they did not give you your room discount with the AAA package. You need to find a knowledgable agent to get it for you.

It is possible that there are no more AAA discounted rooms for your time frame. Since you already have a room booked with AAA, I suggest calling AAA directly to see if you can upgrade to a package.

You can only book AAA rates for resort rooms on your own. If you want to do a package an AAA travel agent must do it for you. Some sought of agreement Disney has with AAA.

We did a package thru AAA - resort, hopper and dining plan. It was cheaper by $175 compared to same pkg priced on WDW website. But I didn't get a price by AAA website. I called a AAA travel agent directly.

call or email your agent to get a price on a package. I am using someone in AAA midaltantic and can give you her name if you want to try a different agent.

We have an AAA package booked for 2006 and it is less than directly though Disney. Not much though, because we are staying at FW campground and the sites are not that expensive.

Gillian,
Please PM me the name of the person that you are using. I know the hotel price is discounted because I added everything up seperately and that was the only way it came out to the price they gave me.

At this point I'm not positive I want to lock myself into a package only because it needs to be paid 45 days out and I'm quickly approaching that point, but I definately think the dining plan would be a good deal for us! If only you could purchase it separately!!!

Thanks for the help!!!

I had tried to get the dining package when it was free a few months ago. The CM told me (since I already had passes) that it had to be booked as a package to get the dining plan -so he added a one day hopper to each person in our party. But, at that time of year the AAA discount should be 20% on a value or moderate WDW resort, 5% off the passes, and should also have a free parking pass to the AAA lot at WDW. I also found out it is HARD to find a AAA person that is helpful. You can call Disney reservations and ask for the AAA rate and they can give it to you. It doesn't have to be booked by a AAA rep to get the rate. FYI, Disney is always been more helpful when booking.

Good luck!

I went through a AAA travel agent and the cost difference between AAA and Disney was $70 for a 4 night Pop stay with the dining plan. It would only be a savings if I didn't have to pay $69 to join! Granted there are other minimal AAA benefits, but in my opinion, for the cost difference being so little, I didn't go the AAA route.

We booked our trip for 6 adults 1 child from Dec 2-10 with AAA and saved about $250 for the entire trip versus the price from Disney. We did a 8 night stay at Pop Century, 7 day park hopper plus ticket with expiration, and the the dining package. We figured we will save even more since 3 of the teens can eat alot. Plus since we booked with AAA we get the Diamond parking pass and the 10% discount card for the World of Disney store at DTD and some other discounts. I would call AAA and see if they can double check that rate that you were quoted on the website. I was also told by my agent that if any codes came out I could apply it to my trip.
