We have always booked through AAA, or on board, and then dropped the reservation to AAA. Anyway, I know they use to give the emugs, but once the soda was free they gave onboard credit, like $75 or something. My parents just got the new AAA DCL book and it says only cat 9 or higher with get a credit, cat 10 and lower get nothing! Is this true? What about if you booked through AAA when this wasn't a rule? We booked our 11/05 trip while on board 11/04 and this wasn't the rule then. I am just wondering if we will get the credit.....

We booked onboard in February for February 2006, with a stateroom credit When we transferred over the reservation to AAA they explaind that they would give us the credit. However, we'd have to cancel the DCL reservation and then book a new reservation through AAA. We kept our original DCL reservation and transferred over because DCL was a better deal.

You should just be up front with your AAA representative. Our TA is usually extremely helpful and is always happy to retain us as a regular client.

I just sent her an e-mail...we book all of our cruises through her, or on DCL and then drop them to her. She really doesn't have to do anything to get the commission... I will let you know what she says. Otherwise, I see no great advantage to drop the reservations to her anymore.

Hey, we are AAA members, are they generally cheaper for DCL cruises? Someone said something about a book. Can I order a book or just DCL cruises offered by AAA???

I went to AAA last week to get quotes for 4 night Wonder for Nov 2006. I asked the TA if AAA gives any type of stateroom credit and she told me no. The price she quoted me was the same exact price as the DCL website. It made me wonder why would I bother to book with her :confused3 .

Can't answer the OP's question. Just wanted to say that I've read other threads where it seems that some people get good deals and extras from AAA. However, when I once stopped in there and asked about DCL the agent said that their prices are the same as DCL's. It really seemed as if she didn't want to be bothered by me. Wonder if I would have gotten the same answer from a different agent.

typically they'll only be cheaper than DCL if they have group space blocked.

We also have AAA but booked it with our TA. We gave her our AAA # and she booked our precruise hotel and car. We cancled our Disney transfer to the port. Now we have an extra day of to relax and its only costing us 30 extra bucks (for a family of four) than if we came the day of the cruise. Did not save any $ on the cruise, but DID save on the car/hotel/cancling the transfer. Our TA gets a commission, saves us $, and does all the leg work. :Pinkbounc

54 days until our first Disney cruise!

Our AAA agent had group space at a very good deal...we should also have a $150 shipboard credit....once the mug program ended they emailed me the following:

We would like to advise you of the following important change relevant to Disney Cruise Line and AAA Vacations Walt Disney World Resort packages.

Member benefit change for Disney Cruise Line:

Beginning June 12 on the Disney Magic(R) and June 13 on the Disney Wonder(R), the AAA/CAA member benefit will be changed. Clients who purchase a Disney cruise will receive an onboard credit good toward merchandise, spa treatments, shore excursions and other onboard activities. This new benefit replaces the complimentary soda program, which will now be available to all guests at the 24-hour beverage station on Deck 9 aft and during meal hours at Topsider Buffet/Beach Blanket Buffet. Complimentary sodas will also be available on Castaway Cay at Cookie’s Bar-B-Q and the adult-only beach Serenity Bay. Sodas will remain complimentary in full-service dining rooms.

The onboard credit amounts are:

3- or 4-night cruise or 7-night Land and Sea Vacation Package

Inside stateroom category 10-12 $25 per stateroom*

Outside stateroom categories 1-9 $50 per stateroom*

7-night cruise

Inside stateroom category 10-12 $75 per stateroom*

Outside stateroom categories 1-9 $150 per stateroom*

The following AAA/CAA exclusive member benefits still apply:

· 10 percent discount on merchandise onboard at Treasure Ketch with a minimum $75 purchase

· 10 percent discount on snorkeling, bicycle and boat rentals at Castaway Cay

· AAA Vacations(R) Diamond Card privileges and access to the AAA VIP Lounge located in Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom(R) Park (one visit per party) when theme park admission is included in a seven-night Land and Sea Package.

*Any unused portions are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Onboard credit in U.S. dollars.

If you have any additional questions regarding this change in policy please feel free to contact us at 800-222-6953. Thank you for choosing AAA Travel.

lilygator, those are the credits I am talking about. According to the new AAA DCL book, there is no more $75 credit for cat 12-10. You have to book a cat 9 or above to get a credit. I still haven't heard from my AAA TA.....

My AAA TA just e-mailed me. She said that she checked it upon booking and the credit was there. She is going to check again and let me know. :cool1:

Lillygator...thanks for the information. I am a AAA member but I was not aware that they offered the onboard credit for booking through them. I will look into it when I book my 2007 cruise. :rolleyes1

Thanks again! :flower3:
