AAA membership: what are other benefits?

I only know of rooms and ticket discounts.

Also the same with Universal, including shop discounts.

We just got 7 day MYW base tickets from AAA. Before tax they were $194.95 Adult and $154.95 child. It was only a $5 price break, but 3x$5=$15. AAA also has discounts for car rental and 10% at some resturants like Joe's Crab Shack.

:disrocks:

Let me dance a little.

If you book a package through AAA you will also get 10% off most purchases at The World of Disney in DTD. You will also get a voucher for a free drink at the AAA lounge in Tomorrowland among other discounts with your AAA Diamond Card.

Don't overlook the obvious. AAA service can be a lifesaver if you have a flat tire, stalled car, or my specialty- if you have locked your keys in your car.

I would say especially if you have teenage drivers AAA is a must.

The discounts are a nice perk but they never seem to offer deep discounts.

AAA offers approx. 5% discount on theme park tickets, not just Disney either.

Also, discounted hotel room rates, 30% off eyeglasses at LensCrafters, roadside assistance 24 hours a day, free travelers checks, guide books, maps and Trip Tiks (you give them you're driving route and they map out the best route for you).

There is also local discounts available that they list on their website.

It's worth every penny and has paid for itself over and over again with us.

We use our AAA a few times a year specifically for the Reebok outlet - an extra 20% off which is combined with the stores offer for B2 get1 free (and other offers) .. makes for great price on shoes. Very helpful when you have a DH with 4E width (hard to find) and two growing boys that will be teens soon!
We also get a discount at Godfather's Pizza and for oil changes/car wash at certain locations.
I get my $$ worth out of the membership fee with disocunts plus peace of mind for any towing or car lock out problems.. DH locked himself out of car many times in the past.. it is no fun to pay $40-$50 to have someone unlock your car. :sad2:

The travel benefits are a plus (don't forget about the free maps, tourbooks, and TripTiks) but don't forget AAA is an auto club and the free towing has been a lifesaver several times for us. If you travel by car on trips, it's a must have!

Is there still a parking pass offered by AAA, for closer parking at the parks. I seem to remember that from a few years ago. We've never rented a car, so never paid much attention.

If so, can you get one without booking thru AAA

Yes, the diamond parking passes are still available but only when booking a package through AAA.

AAA provides a discount card for prescription drugs with certain pharmacies. CVS is one of them but they have a comprehensive list on their website.

Earl of Sandwich in DTD gives a discount with a AAA card.

Many local AAA discounts are available in my area for attractions, restaurants, outlet malls, etc. We have AAA specifically for road assistance, if needed. The discounts offered are just a bonus to me...but a nice bonus. :)

Thanks for this tip- It is good for medications not covered by insurance.

THANKS FOR STARTING THIS THREAD- I CAN"T BELIEVE WHAT I HAVE BEEN MISSING... I always ask when getting a hotel room or renting a car but I never thought to ask other places.
10% at Payless Shoes
5% Barnes and Noble
15% at Ms. Desserts
10% Gateway computers

ok, I just joined AAA for discounts. How do I find out about everywhere things are discounted? I tried their website and found it very confusing. How did you get rates for DW tickets? Online? Also hotels in Orlando or anything they offer. I cant find it on their website. LOST..... :rolleyes1 I did find hotels..

We are the same. I almost never remember to ask, if there is an AAA discount. My DH is better than I am. He saved more off of his glasses at lenscrafters, than with our insurance. :)

Since AAA differs between states, your best bet is to go to your local AAA office and get a list of local discounts. If you plan to travel, ask for a list of discounts and a tourbook for the cities where you are traveling. The tourbooks list a number of discounts as well. The web sites have some discounts but not all.

The biggest benefit, they came and towed my dead car off to the repair shop yesterday.
