I'm thinking of getting a membership in hopes of some good deals for Disney. Are the $45 membership dues for the whole year (great deal!)? or per month(not so great)?

Thanks!

Phew! :D Thanks!

I was thinking... well that's not a deal... LOL!

Per year.

Plus, AAA gets discounts on hotels, car rentals, Amtrak, etc... They also give you great road maps and travel guides for free -- as many as you like for just about any location. I'm always shocked at how my local AAA office practically buries me in travel guides and maps when I ask for information.

Also, if you are traveling to DisneyWorld by car, ask AAA for a triptik -- they'll print out a booklet with maps, info on the areas you'll be traveling through, travel distances & times, and emergency information. Also, AAA offers free roadside assistance like short-distance tows and locksmithing (ever lock your keys in your car?)

Also, if you join and they offer it in your state, check into AAA's insurance rates. I just changed our car policies and homeowners and saved over $500 per year over what we'd been paying with State Farm.

I hadn't had a AAA membership for several years and just got a new membership for a recent trip to DisneyLand. That one membership has paid for itself several times over.

Thanks for the info!

Funny story... after I posted this - I went to check my mail and there was an offer for AAA! LOL! $49 for the primary person, waive the set up/activation fee and add a second person free for the 1st year... Just may do it!

AAA offers great discounts. We went shopping at the local outlet mall several weeks ago and the AAA discounts at the stores saved us at least $30. If your AAA is like mine you will find plenty of ways to save back your membership fee. That's not even counting if you have to use their towing service.

Our AAA you can print your own Triptiks right from the Internet or get directions. It is a great program.

i have it, bought on the spir of the moment and it saved me lot of money. 55.00 on the hotel room alone!!!

We carry it for the towing. We have used it several times. We carry the higher coverage that will tow you further. You need additional coverage for campers and boats to get them towed. We also have our daugter covered. She has used it when her friend at college locked herself out of car. You can use the service if your in someone elses car. We also get free travelers checks when we need them and its nice to get maps when you need them. I have never used their trip planning service. But have used a travel agent for our first trip to Disney.

AAA offers great prices on Disney Hoppers. Thier 4 day hoppers for $200 and 5 day hoppers for $221. I was told by my local office that I could just walk in their store and pick them up (My Amer. Ex. billing date changes on the 24th and I plan to order them then). Out of all the places I've looked AAA was the cheapest. If you know of any cheaper please let me know where. Thank You!!!!!

I am a member of AAA. I used it last year to save a few bucks on 3 nights at the All Stars. They also give a discount of 20% at the Casual Corner and Petite Sophisticate just so you know :)

Do you have to let the hotel know about your discount when you book? I booked a hotel many months ago but may join AAA now. Think I could apply the AAA discount after the fact?

You could try. Usually the hotel only has so many rooms at the AAA discount. You might need to cancel and rebook to get the rate. Have you tried booking the hotel through the AAA website?

djm99 (my brother's initials): I got 4day hopper passes from ticketmania for 192 adult/152 child and no shipping charges. It's not a lot of savings over AAA, but I don't have AAA yet (and at the time didn't want to pay the $96 to join...but recently received in the mail an offer to waive the second person's fee...)

safetymom: thanks for the info. After I join, I'll try booking through AAA and see if I get a better rate.

I went to ticketmania.com they have a price of $221 for 4 day and I even emailed them for discount amont and they quoted me that price. Were did you get those prices from - exact website? Thanks in advance!!!! Oh D stands for David my husband J my name is Joy and M is the begginning of our last name and of course In 1999 we begin our family (DD)

I got the tickets from the TicketMania website. No other special savings codes or anything. It was back in May. They said for a limited time they were waiving shipping charges, but they didn't say how long that would last.

in addition to things mentioned above...some of the little perks are being able to rent 2 movies, get the 3rd free at our local "Movie Gallery" and discount cinema tickets ($1.50 off per ticket) at your local AAA.

I also saved 30% at Lenscrafters on eyeglasses for my DD with the AAA card.

The membership pays for itself :D
