Does DL take AAA discounts on tickets? I just joined and haven't got all the info on it but it did say Theme Park/Attraction discounts so I'm wondering if that applies to DL.....and would it be able to be used on AP's?

Sort of. AAA tickets include free parking at the resorts, which most tickets do not. (Ticket prices are the same as advanced purchase prices) To the best of my knowledge there is no AP discount for AAA, but AAA tickets can be put toward the AP cost.

I picked up a DL brochure at AAA this week and there is a notation that 10% discount applies to character dining.

Do you need to purchase a AAA package for this or can you simply present your AAA card.

Thanks.

Southern California AAA offices do not offer any ticket or dining discounts nor do they even sell them, UNLESS you purchase a package through them (package must include hotel stay).

You can, however, get discounts at the on property hotels with your AAA

In Arizona we get our DL tickets at our local AAA store. They are the same price as the advanced tickets through the DL website. We used to get AAA discounts at certain restaraunts. However, since we got the Disney VISA we use it to get 10% at certain restaurants and stores.

If you get a package through AAA you get some additional perks like lanyards, pins, TTMM, and special viewing areas for parades, Aladdin and Crush.

I just present my CAA ( equivalent to AAA) card at Ariel Grotto & Minnie and Freinds Breakfast and get 10% off my bill. You do not need the package

This wouldn't work for Southern CA, but the Oregon/Idaho AAA offers 3-and 5-day discount tickets. This was the cheapest I found for our June trip, just walked into the local office and bought them 4 days before we left. You can also order online and have them delivered, for a cost. Here's the info from the website:

Disneyland Resort Hopper Passports - Admission for a total of three or five days to Disneyland Park and/or Disney's California Adventure over a fourteen day period. Allows admittance to both parks on the same day. Includes re-entry privileges to both parks on the same day. Includes free parking and one early entry into a designated theme park (on select days.)

3-Day Hopper Adult Ticket - $160.55 ($8.45 savings +free parking)
3-Day Hopper Child (3-9) Ticket - $132.05 ($6.95 savings +free parking)
5-Day Hopper Adult Ticket - $184.30 ($9.70 savings +free parking)
5-Day Hopper Child (3-9) Ticket - $155.80 ($8.20 savings +free parking)

I live in Northern California and can use my AAA card for a 10% discount at:
Plaza Inn
Wine Country Trattoria,
Ariel's Grotto
PCH Grill
Goofy's Kitchen

Just present your card for the discount when paying for your meal. I have a Premium AP so I don't need to use it but for those of you that don't, I hope this helps.:)

In regards to the hotel discounts, I found the price to be cheaper with travel sites like Travelocity than the AAA discount.

We like the free parking that comes with the AAA tickets because we like having our car there.

I agree. Sometimes hotels "best rate" is less than AAA.

Thanks Disneylu! This is exactly the info I was looking for. I knew the AAA had to be good for something. We can use it at Goofy's Kitchen. I need to take notes of all the places to reference.

From my understanding, the Goofy's Kitchen character dining tickets are cheaper through GAT than AAA. AAA tickets are $33.44 (10% discount - $37.16 - $3.72). GAT tickets are $35, but GAT includes the 18% gratutity and taxes) whereas AAA does not.

AAA - $33.44 + 6.02 + 3.06 = $42.52
GAT - $35 (savings of $7.52 per adult)

what does GAT stand for?

If you plan to use them, call them instead of buying online. When you call them, tell them you want to use the 'podcast' code and they should wave the $10 processing fee.

If you buy your tickets through AAA, you can also purchase vouchers for the character meals. I was given the impression that we could order just the vouchers, but I added hoppers so I'm not sure about that. The vouchers are a very good deal and include tax and gratuity. Here are the current offerings and prices:

*Goofy's Kitchen (Brunch and Dinner)
*Lilo & Stitch Aloha Breakfast
*Chip 'n Dale's Critter Breakfast
*Minnie & Friends breakfast
*Ariel's Grotto (Lunch & Dinner)

Breakfast $25.60/adult $14.45/child
Lunch/Dinner at Ariel's Grotto $25.60/adult $17.80/child

I am not really sure what the price is for dinner at Goofy's. The above doesn't make it clear, but that is the price list I was given from AAA. I bought our vouchers over the phone from my local agent (actually, I paid a deposit and will pay them off in a month), but you can also order them over the phone from the central office, or at least you can where I live.

As far as the park hoppers, you can include everything as a package (tickets and vouchers) and then you just put down a deposit. I think you have to pay it off 30 days ahead of your trip or something like that. Our local office doesn't carry anything more than the 2- or 3-day hoppers but they will order them for you. The prices are the same, I think, as the advance purchase through disneyland.com but there are a few perks (free parking, Diamond card, etc).

When I compared prices, AAA vouchers were the best deal on character meal vouchers, but GAT was close and so was the Orange County visitor's site http://hotels.anaheimoc.org/1282_attraction-tickets_a18.html?ticketID=587

I just called my local BCAA office and they had three-day park hopped tickets for $167, which is less than getting them directly from Disney.

We already got tickets w/ our Disney vacation pkg. I'm not wondering if I should have them take the tickets off, and just get hotel. We can then purchase the tickets separately thru AAA. I don't know if it's worth the trouble though. Besides that, I want to make sure we get the magic mornings and whatever other perks come w/ getting the tickets thru Disney.

my husband and i were just thinking about getting into aaa today. we drove by and saw a disney window display up there. i think ill do it.

AAA is great for your cars too!! They unlock car doors, bring you 2 gallons of gas for the car when I when ran out on the way to....., check under the hood with tests so you know whats wrong, and will fix a flat tire on the traffic side of the freeway, and tow your car to repairs, or your home.

We have 3 to 4 tows a year, 2 lock outs, 1 run out of gas, 4 no starts a year and 1 flat tire.

Well worth the money!! But..... They also help me keep Disney cheaper!! You got to love that!!
