I just became a AAA member again for the first time in years. I understand that I can get a discount on hotels at WDW with my AAA membership, but I have a few questions:

1. Can I get a discount at the GF?
2. Are there blackout dates?
3. What is the discount, exactly?
4. How do I book it, through AAA or WDW ressies?

Thanks to anyone who can answer my questions!

When Using Aaa Just Call 1-407-wdisney, Tell Them Where You Want To Stay And Ask If They Have A Aaa Rate, Aaa Rates Are Based On A Number That The Hotel Holds Open For This Type Of Discount. If They Have It You Get It. Before You Decide Give A Call To See If Its Available. Personelly I Book Myself Instead Of Going Thru An Agent In My Opionion Its Less Money.
Good Luck

Hi! We joined AAA in '06, with the main purpose being our trip to WDW. I don't believe any of the resorts are excluded, but the probably only offer a certain amount of rooms at each resort for specific dates. If you plan ahead of time, I can't imagine you wouldn't be able to get a discount, unless it were a really popular time to visit. I don't know the exact percentage, but we saved about $600 with AAA during our last trip (2 rooms at a value, 6 nights). If you are just doing a room reservation, you can book the room through Disney or through any travel agent. However, if you want to do a package, you need to go directly through AAA. Just go to the aaa website, and you can request a quote, which will get you in contact with one of their travel agents.

We book through AAA to get the package. We like to get the DDP. One thing booking through AAA is that if you do book directly through them, they own the reservation. Not really a big deal, but you will not be able to call Disney directly to make requests or any confirmations. AAA has to do that for you. You can still make your own ADRs or AAA can make them for you. I like to make mine myself.;)

See the www.mousesavers.com website for all the details about discounts in general. The site includes a section on AAA discounts which vary depending on the resort classification (deluxe, moderate, or value) and season.

The discount is off the room portion of your package if you book one, but we're saving about $400 off the quote I got from CRO directly for 8 nights at the Poly with tickets and DDP this August.

If you want a room only, you can call Disney, but as others have said, the only way to get a package is to call an AAA travel agent directly. And some are better than others, so if you don't find a good one the first time, call another until you get one you like.

I used my AAA card for a 15% discount at the GF for this august.

it is 15% during value season and 10% during one or 2 of the other seasons.

It takes care of a little bot more than the tax which is nice when you can't get any other discount code.

I have AAA and want to share my experience with Disney and AAA. I made a ressie over the internet, couldn't add the AAA discount. I called to see if the discount could be added to my ressie, yes it could, according to the CM. OK, add it please. Do you need my AAA member number over the phone? NO, just show your card when you check-in. OK, Thanks!! Arrived at the ASMu gave my AAA card and guess what, no discount linked to the ressie. The CM called the main reservations desk to double check, sorry , no more AAA discounts available for the ASMU. They must only discount a certain number of rooms at that rate. I didn't get the discount even though the CM did try really hard with the central ressie office. Evidently, that office controls everything and not the folks behind the counter. Lesson learned. BE SURE THEY TAKE YOUR AAA MEMBER NUMBER OVER THE PHONE AND LINK IT TO YOUR RESSIE SO YOU WILL BE SURE TO GET THE DISCOUNT.

Not really venting, just wish they would all get on the same page!!!

From what I was told at CRO, just like with codes and bouncebacks, there are only a certain number of rooms at a given resort eligible for the AAA discount. Maybe this info isn't correct. Anyone know? When we booked the CR with AAA, we were only able to get a Tower MK view. Luckily, that's exactly what we wanted :thumbsup2 If you want a package, you have to call AAA directly.

I guess some CMs are not as knowledgeable as others! Thankfully, the CM took my AAA membership number over the phone. It states that I have to show my card at check-in.
