Can I get a AAA discount for a package? Not sure if it's just for "room only". I've been to Disney many times but always booked room only. TIA

Well, AAA does offer packages. So I guess it depends on what you really mean. You can book a Disney special offer (like free dining) through AAA. You cannot do that AND get a AAA room discount on top of it.

And for room-only AAA discounts, you can book those yourself with Disney. For AAA packages, you have to book with AAA and they are then your TA.

Yes, you can book packages through AAA. I do most of my booking through them, I have an amazing AAA travel agent that I use for almost all of my trips (Disney and non-Disney). By package, I assume you mean room plus tickets?

vicki_c is correct, though; you can't book two discounts at once, same as if you book through Disney. For example, if you want free dining, you won't get a AAA room discount (not sure about tickets, you'd have to ask). Also, if you are lucky enough to get a good pin code, you obviously can't combine the two discounts. Your AAA agent will be able to apply any Disney pin codes or discount codes that you receive :)

I think the real answer is "no". Disney packages are really more of a bundling of products for convenience, not necessarily a means for bundled savings.

When I booked thru AAA their discount is one of the few standing discounts that you can get at WDW without a GP offering or Pin Code and again if I recall correctly it is a room only discount (which varies by season and resort level).

If Disney offers a free dining period or resort only discount that is greater than the standing AAA discount, yes, you can still book it thru AAA and based on availability you can get what everyone else can get too. AAA may throw in some luggage tags and you used to get preferential parking areas at the parks, but you wouldn't get any further discounts.

Usually AAA comes in best when there is a "black-out" period when no Disney discounts are available to the general public. I think that for the most part, any Disney offered discount would exceed the AAA discount.
