AAA discount vs. Code

We had planned on going to Disney Nov 28th - Dec 6th, and using our AAA discount for that (which I believe at a moderate resort would be 15-20% depending on dates)

Well, I "think" I got a code in the mail yesterday, :) But the dates that it is good for is Dec 7th-17th, so that would start the day after we were going to be leaving.

The card that I got says its good for 30% off at value resorts, and then other resort types are available at varying rates. Does anyone know if this would be a lower or higher percentage off?

I possibly could wait a week and go during the time the code is good for, but I kinda had my heart set on going the week after Thanksgiving, for a couple different reasons.

So if the discount is only going to be 10% difference (if I get 20% AAA vs 30% code), I'm not sure I'd be jumping on that...

Just confused now, lol.. NEVER thought I would actually get a code.

What is the AAA discount for that time?

My AAA discount for Sept. is 20%, but I got 40% off with code for CBR for the same time

My postcode dates for Dec. 40% off are 12/7 - 12/17 (no Nov. dates)

I don't know exactly what the AAA discount is for the time I'm planning.... anyone know the % it is during Nov 28th - Dec 6th?

Planning on calling and just price-checking as soon as my dh gets the "OK" to take that time off from work.

Also, I know that in early-mid October, they start offering deals for the time I am planning on going (Nov 28-Dec 6th...(not the time that the codes allow you to go... Dec 7-17th)... anyone know what these deals normally are?

Thanks!
Michelle

I just booked the Poly for Dec 1st-13 with AAA and was given a rate of $289/n pre-tax. Using my meager math skills, it appears to be 15% of the published rack rate of $340/n.

Hope that helps.

Ok, thanks!

I know the dates you booked under are the "value" dates.. which we'll be falling mostly under that also.. but at this time, the 1st 2 nights we'll be there will be a holiday rate. wonder if the AAA is different for those 2 nights?

Also, does Disney go day-by-day in terms of rates? So if we show up during a holiday time, but majority of trip is under value time, would our rates be different each night, or do they lump it all under one rate? Hope that made sense! :)

When we went in 2006 we were able to use the value rate for our entire trip because I moved the arrival date one day earlier, even though basically our entire trip was during the holiday week. As I understand it now, Disney has changed to a nightly rating, with each day being calculated seperately...weekends priced higher and if you straddle a rate change you will pay more for the nights spent in the higher season. I guess Disney decided too many of us had figured out how to avoid being raked over the coals price-wise for the same room.

I don't know if someone else can comment on the current rating system?

How come you only "think" you got a code?

Cause I've never gotten one, and don't know what they're supposed to look like, lol!!

But its a big fold-out brochure, with a 15-digit # on it... so assuming that's the code. :)

So, do you always get a "code" in the mail or do you need to ask to see if there is one next to your name when you book? I have two reservations for 12/6-13th: one thru Disney, with no mention of any discounts next to my name when I called them to book it (although, I didn't ask for one) and the other is thru AAA with about $450 savings difference...which is only about 10%. Just wondering if I should call Disney and ask if there is a code next to my name, to apply to the first reservation. I was excited, when I got the AAA discount but, from the sounds of things here...that still isn't too great.
