I've never stayed at a Disney resort. I'm planning on booking for November using AAA rates. For those who have used the AAA discount, do you simply need to show your card when you arrive or will they ask for your membership number when you book? My AAA membership is about to expire, and I'm considering not renewing it.

You don't need your AAA member # to make the reservation, but you do need to show it at the resort at check-in. You could renew it right before you go if you aren't able to get any other type of discount. That's what I plan on doing for my December trip. The savings I get on the room alone will pay for the membership.

This has probably been answered many times, but can you book with a AAA rate and then switch to a different code?? Thanks!

The CM's in res are suppose to ask for your AAA card number when booking at a AAA rate, but some do not, but you will ( again thats what is said but not always followed through with ) need to present a valid AAA card at time of check in , if asked and valid AAA card is not presented rates will revert to rack rate for the time period you are there. So would it would be smart to be better safe then sorry. ( could always hold off to renew your membership to the very last minute)

Yes if a better rate comes out down the line you can have that reservation changed to the better rate.

Absolutely! You can use the best code or deal available and CRO will then apply that to your reservation. They only allow one discount per reservation so make sure you use the best one.
This year I got tired of keeping track of the various codes/discounts so I used Small World Vacations from mousesavers.com. They are Disney specialists who constantly work on getting you the best deal. I started months ago with a AAA discount. A few months later a deal came out so they asked my permission to cancel the original reservation and make a new one (of course I said YES). Then the next day or so an even better deal came out and they again changed (not cancelled this time) my reservation. By the time they were done I saved around $800.00 over rack rates. I even let them make my PS arrangements for me....or course I gave them the dates/times/restaurants and they did the rest. Great FREE service. It saved me a lot of time (and some hassle). I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I booked a AAA discount at WL for 199.00 per night (Jan 2004), then when the codes came I out, I called back and CM applied code to ressie, and got it for 120.00 per night without a problem.
That's what I usually do, so then if I can't get a code, the AAA rate is usually better than nothing....

I have a question...I am traveling with my mother who is paying for the room. I am a AAA member but she is not. Can we get the discount if my name is listed as a guest in the room, or does the person whose name the room is under have to be a member???

Assume, for the sake of my question, that there will be no other discounts that I could use for a room-only reservation in November. Also assume that, although I have been a AAA member for seven years, my renewal period will end prior to November and I am considering not renewing my membership.

Included with my AAA renewal form was a "2005" sticker to apply to my card where it states, "Dues Paid to." I went ahead and placed that sticker on my card. However, I have yet to renew my membership. I know it sounds conniving, but could I make reservations under the AAA rates then, upon arrival at Disney, show -- what appears to be -- a valid AAA card and still receive the AAA rate? Or would they enter my AAA membership number into their system and discover that I'm no longer a valid AAA member, leaving me to pay the rack rate?
