I understand some of the restaurants give you a discount with your AAA card. Can anyone tell me where I can find which restaurants? Also any idea what the discount is? We will be staying at HRH and plan on doing Citywalk and other hotels for dinner often.TIA for any replies!

We were just there and I got a discount at Mythos - 10% off the total. I asked about it at Bubba Gump's, but they don't offer it. I don't know if there is a list, but just remember to ask about it at each place you go to eat.

The restaurants at the hotel don't offer the discount. We got 10% discount on restaurants in the park and most of City Walk. Just ask each time you eat.

We asked everytime I took my wallet out! The only place I didn't use it was at Tcoup Chop because I had heard that they don't take it. I also asked at Bubba Gumps and they said they don't take it yet. They said they had just opened and were not taking it just yet, so be sure to ask if you go because it sounds like they eventually will.

I would be interested to know what I saved on all my purchases and dining using my AAA card, but unfortunately I'm not that organized to have kept all my receipts but I'm sure it added up to a pretty substantial amount!

We just got home two weeks ago. Used my AAA at all restaurants in both parks, City Walk (except for Bubba Gumps), and for all merchandise including ride photos in both parks. :thumbsup2

Most every restaurant in the parks took AAA. The exception was the smaller drink stands. We learned to go inside a restaurant to buy a drink!

NASCAR cafe in CityWalk gave us AAA discount as well. However, the Fossil store did not honor AAA. We did like another poster suggested, show your AAA card every time you buy something. It doesn't hurt to ask!

The gift shop at HRH also extends a 10% AAA discount so don't forget to show it there as well :)

We are coming for 7 days and 6 nights. We are driving, so day #1 and day #7 will be spent on the road, so taking that into account, what should I budget for meals. Probably light breakfast, in park lunches, moderate Citywalk dinners (Hard Rock, Nascar, Margaritaville) and maybe one more expensive meal.

I've been agonizing over what is reasonable without sitting down and trying to figure it out meal by meal, and I thought some of you might have some insight.

Thanks!

We just got back a few weeks ago and here is roughly what we spent for a family of two adult and two girls (ages 12 & 5):

Light breakfast at hotel: $20-$25

Lunch at parks: $35-$40

Dinner at City Walk resturants: $60-$80 (with the girls ordering off the kids menu)

So on the average day, we spent roughly $130 on meals. Not as bad as I excepted.

Be careful re AAA "Discount Rates". I reserved a room last March for the 20% off rooms from Dec.4-9. I went in yesterday to convert it to a package at the "AAA Discount Rate" and it came out to $200 MORE than on the Disney website. Same date, same tickets, same dining plan. I called them today and got a major runaround. The TA I worked with said she "didn't know why" it was more and that I was the THIRD client who had had that difficulty. If that was the case. you would think THEY would find out WHY. But all they care about is getting their commission. When I really pressed them for the reason, they said I was getting some "perks" like free parking (can't use it because we are using Disney Transportation) and discounts on meals (can't use it because we are on the dining plan---which THEY sold me!) I now have a complaint lodged with the BBB. Don't make the same mistake I did in believing that a AAA Discount Rate means you are actually getting a discount. You're not!

disney does not give discounts for AAA....

universal does.

many of the places have the AAA logo in the window or by the door.
most places honor it, just ask.

it is 10% off for the discount.

i used to use the AAA discount all over but once i got the ap, i use that as it has a greater discount.

some places will give you the discount if you show them your universal master card or the orlando magic card.
i have done both in past years.

I think the only place in Disney that takes the AAA discount is Downtown. I think their shops give 10% on shopping. I don't know about the rest.

But for Universal, I book it thru AAA and the have the discount for ressies.

I showed my AAA card everywhere, just kept it in my lanyard. Always show it even if you arent sure, it cant hurt!

Just want to make sure I'm reading this right...........I should show my AAA card whenever I eat or buy something in US/IOA? Someone started talking about WDW and I got confused! lol

i have never been able to use my AAA at dtd. i asked in october but did not find any place that honored it. maybe the poster above went to a store i did not and was sucessful.

i have only used it at city walk and universal parks/hotels.

if you see the AAA emblem on the window of the place, that means they honor the AAA with a discount of what you purchase in their store/resturant.

if you do not see the emblem, ask anyway or just show them your AAA card in case a discount is honored there.
