I'm a frequent troll to this website but a first-time poster. Any help anyone can offer would be appreciated.

We're planning our first ever family trip to Disney for April 26 - May 3. I called Disney earlier today and spoke to a very nice individual, but he told me that there was no way to get the AAA room discount and add the Disney Dining Plan. He said it was either/or.

Does anyone know this is true? I know that AAA can book a reservation for me that includes the dining plan, and I just assumed that the room would be at the AAA rate, but am I wrong on this? If so, I don't guess AAA does you much good if you also want the dining plan.

TIA for the help.

Yes, that is right. You cannot book a room with the dining plan and AAA discount by calling Disney.

You can book a room/dining with AAA discount by booking through AAA. So AAA membership is useful if you want the dining plan. Hope that helps- I know it can be confusing ;)

Hey Pugdog, hope I can help by giving you some answers.

You can call Disney and try to reserve a room for the AAA discount. There are only a certain number of rooms available for that rate. Sometimes they are all sold out so you would be charged the rack rate.

If you would like to have the DDP and receive the AAA rate on the room, you have to book a MYW package with DDP through AAA. You can book a MYW with DDP package through Disney but you won't receive the AAA rate on the room portion of the package. To receive that, again, you have to book through AAA.

Hope that helps.

For our last trip, summer 2006 we first booked room with a aaa discount. A couple months later, I called to add the park tickets and then decided on the dining plan. We did not have to pay extra for the room just added the cost of tickets and dining. Maybe it has changed.? When I booked the other day they asked if I wanted tickets or dining with my aaa room rate.

Thanks to everyone for their prompt responses. The person I spoke with earlier today insisted that it simply couldn't be done---not by him, and not by AAA. Looks like others have run into the same issue when dealing with Disney, but hopefully I can get this resolved by booking through AAA. I'll run by my local office in the morning.

I ran across the same problem..Disney res told me that they can apply the AAA discount, but then I will not be able to add dining if I book through them. When speaking with my AAA agent, he told me that he can book the room with the AAA discount and add dining and whatever else I need. I also asked the AAA agent if I can apply a code to the res later if one comes up - he said yes as long as there is still availablity.

Hope this helps.

I have done it before and the cm I was talking to last week was willing to do it also. You might just want to talk to a different CM. I have not done it all at once though. I get the room res first then wait until it is closer to time to go and add the tickets/dining. No problem.
