AAA discount, am I missing something?

I've been booking through my AAA agent for the past 3 years, a total of 4 trips with one coming up in May. I've always been under the assumption that a AAA agent can get you a discount on the room only portion of your stay, not the package (tix, dining). However, I was in the Dis chat room last night, and a person very vehemently claimed that their AAA agent gets them a discount on the entire package. I know my agent and am sure she's getting every discount available to us, but again this person in the chat got kind of po'd when I claimed a second time that AAA gets you a discount on the room only. Is there more a AAA agent can do?

We recently went throught AAA and our agent could not get us a discount on the room where we wanted to stay (she had it available at another value but we wanted POP and it was and $81.00 difference, not too bad to stay where you want) but she could get us a discount on the package, it ended up saving us almost $400. from all of the other quotes that I got.

Okay, just spoke to our AAA agent and here we've been getting the discount on the room and package all along, I just never knew that or even knew to ask. thanks.

To Be Clear...

Disney reservations can accept a room only AAA reservation.

Disney reservations cannot book you a package with AAA discount.

AAA book you either.

AAA Magic Your Way 'packages' only have discounts applied to room and possibly tickets (4 day or greater I believe.) You do get some freebies/vouchers. AAA can use codes (available to anyone) to apply to your package. For instance for our trip in late April I got 15% room discount AAA used disney code for free park hopper/water parks upgrade to our tickets. You can only apply one code.

Then why couldn't they add the code for free dining?

I just called AAA and one code~ one code~ one code.....Either you get the room discount or a three letter code. Period. Are some making a mistake, possibly but that is the official policy. Back to the drawing board.

Nope your agent is 100 % right.

You can have the AAA discount on the room/package OR you can have the free dining package. You cannot have both.

SOMETIMES.. Disney issues special package codes for AAA agents that includes some things not available thru other means. Only your AAA agent would know about those codes.

I stand corrected I just called our agent and she said it was room discount OR code.
