AAA Diamond Pass Question

Is it possible to get a AAA Diamond Parking Pass without booking your travel package through AAA? (We are AAA members but didn't know about the Diamond Pass when we booked through Small World Vacations.)

This is the information I was given by the AAA receptionist, but thought I'd check with the experts on these boards for the "final answer"....

I and others here have also gotten them when purchasing Park Hoppers from our local AAA office.

Thanks. I stopped by a different AAA branch this morning and was told the same thing. Wish I'd known, and I would have bought our Park Hoppers through them. Planning this first trip is definitely a learning experience - I'll know a lot more when planning the next trip!

As I understand it, the Diamond Parking Pass allows you to park your car in the first few rows (not sure how many) closest to the entrance gates of the various parks. When I stopped in at the AAA office today, I was told that the passes are only available if you purchase your park hopper passes through AAA. They also said that there is some type of AAA traveler's lounge at WDW (looked on the map to be near the entrance to Magic Kingdom) but that it is only open to members who have booked their packages through AAA Travel. So it sounds like just having a AAA membership doesn't get you any of the real perks....

It is now 8.00 and yes, if you are not entitled to free parking, you will pay.

Parking is free if you stay at a Disney resort-AAA gets you no special rate.

The lot is wonderful-in most cases (except MK) you can walk to the entrance gates.
