Yep-- you can get the
AAA discount on the room portion of a package and then pay for the dining plan and at least 1 day's worth of tickets. That must be booked through AAA, not directly through disney, and you cannot use a web site as far as I know.
The only catch I have found is that if you book through disney, the rate is the same for all nights. So if you are arriving during a cheaper season, you pay a cheaper rate the whole time. AAA uses a nightly rate so if the rate jumps up mid-week, your price will also go up. For our December trip, for instance, it is cheaper to go through disney than AAA because we arrive during value season and the rate doesn't change. The christmas rates go up, which would also make the AAA rates go up too. It comes out almost the same, but still a tad cheaper.
If I were arriving during a high priced season, it would pay to use AAA because the rate would go down if the season changed. And it would stop the need to make seperate ressies when the season changed, like if you went through disney and didn't wnat to high rate to be carried through.
HTH!
