We are getting ready to book our 1st Disney Cruise (yeah!), and we were wondering if there are AAA discounts for Disney Cruises?
We just don't seem to have as many discount options here in Canada for Disney cruises (we normally book through Sears Travel and so TA is going to price out cruise tomorrow), but we also belong to CAA but have never used them for travel.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tiger

We have never booked AAA rate, since we use vacation club points to pay, but we have had friends who do use AAA. And I'm afraid it is all about the skills of the agent. These friends have always obtained rates from AAA that were a bit, not much, but lower than any of the other agencies they got quotes from, including DCL itself. And they got the free soda mug to boot. So check it out, and check with DU when you get a quote, and see if they can match it or beat it. It pays to do your homework.

Through 2/10/04 AAA is giving $100 (per stateroom) credit if you book with them. You also get the free soda. We used them last year and got the best price around. This year we re-booked on the cruise so we're going through Disney.

I booked AAA got a great deal. 1453.00 for 3 of us including transfers to the ship from mco airport.

WOW ... $1453 for 3 people. I was ready to book another cruise - it looked like such a fantastic deal. Then I realized it must be for the Wonder. Maybe still a good deal, but not the 7-day I was dreaming about.

My local AAA office travel agency said that they book blocks of rooms for certain sail dates and that those prices do represent a discount. On other dates their prices seemed comparable to DCL direct.

I recently called my TA (another agency) after seeing a AAA ad for DCL. My question was whether I could get the same deal thru her agency...since I've used her for many years. She was actually able to do better than the AAA deal.

I tried online agencies, direct through DCL, AAA then Costco Travel, Costco was almost $900.00 lower than the lowest which was AAA, once I receive my itinerary in writing from Costco, my AAA agents wants a copy of it, she wasn't happy because they are supposed to be the lowest!

The actual price from AAA should be the same as any other preferred agency. Some will discount further and some will give you a rebate or credt. Sam's and costco will likely be the cheapest but don't expect AAA to be any better than places like allseason travel, dreams unlimited, Travelocity, icruise, etc. Check several and see what things look like.
