o.k so i am wondering if it's worth getting CAA/AAA for our upcoming trip.
We are booking for March 5th and I assume there won't be any deals at that time of year so I wondered if AAA rate is my best option, so I don't have to pay regualar list price.
Should I just book the AAA rate if there is one and hope something better comes along?
Suggestions?

If you aren't already a member of AAA, you can't just book with that rate in the hopes that something better comes along. Disney is starting to crack down on this and may ask you for your AAA number. If you are planning on becoming a member and then booking, it might be a good option. We are currently AAA members so I booked my package through them in the hopes that a code will come out.

When I booked our trip for November, I was not a AAA member yet. (But I was planning on getting the membership for the discount) I had no problem booking my room only reservation. The CM just told me that I would need my AAA card at check in to get the discount. I have since gotten the membership. Now I just have to remember to bring my card with me!

Well I just booked this morning for Pop in March and they just put the reg. rate on my booking until I call in my AAA/CAA card number.
10% savings is the discount I found out anyhow.
Anyone think something else will come up for March?
I think last year there was a canadian package discount but ??

Although I would definitely bring my card with me, just so you know, in all the years that I have used AAA to get discounts on hotel rooms, not just at Disney, but all over the country and Canada, I have never been asked to show the card when checking in at the hotel. I always have it with me, but no one has ever asked to see it.

When I booked our trip for this past June last year, I only had to tell the CM I had AAA to get the discount. When I booked recently for our Jan 08 trip, I had to give the CM my AAA # to book the rate. Also, FYI, if you book now without a AAA, don't expect to call later and just apply the AAA discount to your reservation. Like all other Disney discounts, there are only a limited number of rooms available with the discounts.

I just booked April 2008 with AAA and the CM asked for my card number. I guess it depends on which CM you talk to.

I just applied the AAA rate to my existing room-only reservation for our upcoming Feb. trip. The CM did ask for my member # and told me to have my card with me at check-in. Also, this was the second time I called to apply the AAA rate. The first time I called, they didn't have anything available. If you don't have luck the first time, keep trying!
