Hiya,

I've booked the AAparour room for our reception and I'm panicking that it's too big for our group there's only 15 of us including me DF. It's got a high minimum spend which I think we can meet but after seeing pictures of a reception held there I don't know whether we are making a mistake. It looks like a lot of room to fill. :confused3 We're not having a planning session at Disney so I won't see the room until our wedding day and I can only go off the pictures we've seen from Disney.

Has anyone got any piccies of the room set up?

Can anyone suggest anything to fill the space? I did want to have our meal in the second room but I'm not having a DJ and we are only using the living room area for cake cutting, toasts etc.

Or can anyone suggest another room that's not soo big? I'd still like to keep the reception venue at Epcot.

Any ideas would be much appreciated. :)

TIA

You could see if they will put smaller tables in the other room-I think the standard is a 10 top table- more tables will take up more space. The living room area would probably be fine with the furniture and cake.

We looked at the room at our site visit (for 35) It is a nice space. There was just some pictures of someones reception set up in the living room space- very pretty- I think I saw them this week- I'll browse and see if I see them and post it-if you havent already seen them.

Here is the trip report I saw AAP in (its beautiful Holly-hope you dont mind I shared)

What about using something like the o table... but only use 1 side of the table
that fills more room space and you can put the cake in the center or something... or you can use the center as your first dance spot :)
The problem is those tables require more centerpieces.

Or a long table where you can seat 8 people on 1 side and 7 on the other...

Hiya

I was going to have a long table in the smaller room for our meal, like you suggested 8 on one side and 7 on the other. I thought this would be more intimate then separate round tables. I was looking more for suggestions for the living area. I loved the set up in Holly's trip report but it looked like she had large tables fill the space, she had more guests than I do so that worked for her.

We are having a laid back reception so we're not really doing the whole dancing thing but we are having 2xDC and cake cutting before we go in to have a sit down meal. I guess I'm worried that we will end up sitting around in a massive space during the cocktail hour twiddling our thumbs and look completely lost.

Any other suggestions.....

TIA

Why not have everything in one room? You can save money on decorations, and by having hors d'ouerves and drinks set up you can fill space. Plus, if you are using the room that I am thinking of, it isn't as nice as the main room. There are no windows for one, and there is no theme. It is very plain. It is just my opinion though.

If you still want to have the cake cutting, toasts, etc. in the main room, why not have an action station or two. It will fill up space, plus give your guests a little something extra.

Also just thought that you could keep the furniture that is already in there. They have couches and chairs in there most of the time. It would cut down on rental fees, plus it does fill up the room.
