Sad your TR is over. Plan another trip ASAP! And it's been over a month since you promised to post your final thoughts LOL.

I know!!! You're one of my loyal followers, where were ya?!

A trip is in the brewing as we speak (more on that later)

Yeah, and you know when I said I wouldn't wait a month to post my final thoughts? I actually meant I would wait closer to six weeks!

I'm late to this party but gotta say that I LOVED reading the TR and seeing your great pics. AKL is one of my fantasy resorts to "someday" stay at. Your little girl is the cutest thing! Thanks for the entertainment and keep up the good work.

Thanks so much for staying on board!!
I know, I hate when trips come to an end I hope to go back sometime in 2013 (although J doesn't know yet ). I know I want to take Emma for her 5th birthday, but that'll be in 2015 and that's just too far away!! My dream in the future is to buy DVC and be able to plan trips so we always have one to look forward to when we leave...make sense?? You guys bought resale, right? Whenever we get to that financial point I may have to look into that!

Sorry I just saw this post! Yes we bought through resale. When you get to that point send me a PM and I can walk you through it. It was fairly easy. The did change some of the rules since and now you can only use your points for DVC resort where as before you could use them for other locations and other Disney hotels not through DVC. You can't do that anymore. But like my husband and I said it is still worth the savings because we never really plan on using them for anywhere other than Disney anyways. Can't wait to see your final thoughts!

You guys all remember how I said I wouldn't wait a month to post? Because I actually meant 2 months!


I don't know if I have anyone willing to read this TR anymore. I mean, technically it's done. But I guess I was hoping I could drag it on for as llllooooonnnnnggggg as possible!

My final thoughts from the awesome trip are below!

First off, I do want to thank those who started reading this TR and/or stuck through! I am promising myself next time to be MUCH better about it! I might have to be one of those folks that finishes their TRs immediately!

Final Thought #1: Hotel
I don't know if y'all picked up on it, but J and I LOVED Animal Kingdom Lodge! Everything about that place was wonderful! It was the biggest bummer that we only got to stay one night. So keep that in mind everyone!! If you're doing a split stay, I would strongly encourage you to try a minimum of 2 nights!
The Villas at the Wilderness Lodge were great, too! I admit I was kind of bummed when we checked in (and had the dumpster view! ). But once we were relocated and got to know the resort I really enjoyed it! VWL would be a wonderful place to stay around the holidays! I heard the Christmas tree they put in the main lobby is HUGE!!!
We would definitely stay at either of these resorts again! I think I'm more prone to AKL simply because we did a "teaser" stay and I want to actually experience staying there! I also noticed I missed being able to walk to Epcot (my favorite park!). We got to spend so much time visiting Epcot on our last trip since we were at BWV that I was a little spoiled.
So next time, depending on when we go, I would really like to stay at an Epcot resort (maybe Beach Club!) for summer time and maybe a Magic Kingdom resort if we go during the holidays (when are the Villas at the Grand Floridian supposed to open??? ). But, as most of us, I will be happy at any resort as long as we're at Disney!!

Food:
Our favorites this trip were: Chefs de France (just take it slower next time and order what I originally intend to!), Teppan Edo, Garden Grill (surprise!), and Kona (even though I didn't get the Tonga Toast like originally planned this place was wonderful!).
May do again: Boma (had dinner, but would like to try breakfast!), Pecos Bills, Electric Umbrella, and Pizza Planet
Liked (but may or may not do again): 1900 Park Fare (although I would love to go for breakfast just cause I love to be in the GF!), WPE (we've been there twice, so next time we go to DTD for a QS we're trying EoS)

Rides:
LOVED the rain and cool weather! Wait, I guess that's not a ride...
I was so excited we got to ride RnRC together (me for the first time!)! Also really enjoyed ToT, EE, Dinosaur, Space Mountain, BTMR, TSM, HM, TT, and Philharmagic
Liked: Splash, Soarin', Star Tours, Buzz Lightyear, Tea Cups, Muppets
Can go either way: People Mover (I know folks love this ride so I'm totally willing to ride it again, especially cause it usually has no line!)

Wished we could have done: Spent more time at World Showcase (I LOVE it there and really wanted to see more shows and eat/drink more!); spend more time at resort (gotta be one of those families that take a 2 week vacation at Disney, right?); and Indiana Jones (this is 2 trips we haven't done this! We HAVE to see it next time!!)

So for our next trip (which might be sooner than you think, hehe!), our thoughts are:

Hotel: I would love to stay at the Beach Club, Contemporary, or AKL. And someday, the Villas at the Grand Floridian will be open and we can stay there!

Food: Since we'll take Emma next time, J likes the idea of doing the QSDP and do 2 Character Meals OOP. Of course he wants Garden Grill again, but we'll see what characters Emma likes!

Rides: It will definitely be different when we go with Emma! No more running with the bulls to get on the thrill rides! Instead it will be hitting up Fantasy Land and the like! So I'll have to rethink my vision and plan for our next vacation!

Well, that's it. This TR is officially done! I hate to see it come to an end (although pushing a TR close to a year is a little ridiculous!). But that's ok because things are in motion for our little family to see the Mouse!! When, you ask? Keep your eyes open for another PTR in the near future and you'll find out!

That should have been sand bottom not and bottom. LOL

Yay Nancy!! Thanks so much!! Beach Club is soooo awesome! That place would be perfect, especially in the summer! I've always wanted to try a pool with sand in the bottom!!

I know! She's huge! It's so weird to think how big she's gotten!

And yes, a PTR will happen, hopefully very soon!!

WL is my favorite resort. I fell in love with that place and pretty much cried when we left.

We just returned from our first stay at VWL and loved it. Come to think of it, we've loved every DVC resort, for different reasons but they're all great.
