A WISH for Cold Tea? Ana's aMAWzing Disney Trip! 12/1-12/7 ~Last Entry~ p.127

Loving your TR Tim. Breakfast looked great and you all seem to be getting so much done in just a half of day...so cool! Excited for the next update as always as they are so fun to read:)!
Thank you!!!! We really had a blast at breakfast. It was a great way to start off the Disney portion of our trip. :goodvibes

Oh no! Your sweet girl is sick with the croup! My grandmother was the queen of treating croup, all of her kids (my mom included) had it often. She swears by hot shower steam and also cool night time air. Is she feeling better today I hope? Poor Juliana. I hope she recovers quickly Tim. Sounds like a good day for princess movies, coloring and My Little Ponies playtime!:thumbsup2 Hang in there.:goodvibes
Well this whole thing started last Tuesday night. We did take her outside for a few minutes to breathe in some cold air one night and that did seem to help. We also have a cool mist humidifier in her room which we have been running every night.

Besides a random cough, she is back to her normal self. :goodvibes

No wonder you married Mel -- she's cute even when you're in big trouble.
Thank you Glen... this post might have saved me from getting too deep in trouble! :lmao::lmao:

This sounds awesome, and I love Juliana's response to it: request more colors! By the way, I'm glad to hear that she's doing better than she was a couple of days ago.
I guess she figured if she can get one color, she could get more colors!

Thank you.... she is almost back to 100%. She still has a slight cough from time to time.

Hey Tim :goodvibes

Sorry to hear Juliana has been sick. :( Poor girl. Hope she's all better soon!

Sounds like a great day so far! I didn't think Beverly was too awful either. It's the aftertaste that's the worst.
HEY!!!!!!!

Thank you... she is almost all better.

I wouldn't order the Beverly but I would take another sip of it (I hear it makes you more manly!)

Sorry she has the croup. I hope it passes quickly and you can get back to normal.
Thank you! She is just about back!

Henry is SO excited about the snow! I gotta get to the grocery store to make sure we have the essentials, the stores sell out so quickly when the trucks can't get to them after a big snow.
It started here about 10:15. They are calling for 12-20'' I think you guys won't have the big amounts you had last time.

I am all about the VIP entrance for my favorite princess! :goodvibes
And her parents too! ;)

What a great morning, huh? You've hit some of my favorite parts of Epcot...including Beverly... :lmao: And you know what, my son won't drink soda either, thinks it's absolutely gross. I'm riding that thought out for as long as it lasts, let me tell you! :thumbsup2
The morning was moving along very quickly but we HAD to take a few minutes to check out Base21.

Wait a sec.... you put 'favorite' and 'Beverly' in the same sentence. Is there something you'd like to tell us????? :confused3 :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I wonder how long Juliana won't touch soda...... or juice?

Woo-hoo! I'm caught up and plan to stay that way!
YEA!!!!!! You weren't too far behind. :goodvibes

What a great start to your trip so far! I am always amazed by GKTW and the more I learn the more impressed I get. I am so glad you didn't mind the Princess MAW shirt and am thrilled you guys wore the shirts on your first day!
GKTW is a wonderful place for kids... and adults too.

Your shirts were great! We thought it would be fun wearing from CT to Florida to start things off! :goodvibes

CM's looked like lots of fun and Soarin' is always a good first stop. Love the private lounge and entrance! Perfect for a princess!
Juliana loves Soarin' I knew that is where she would want to go first. ;)

Now, if only I could get caught up on the ABC's TR! I miss everyone and all of the banter!
LOL Good luck with that. Following that TR is a full time job!!!!! :goodvibes

So THAT is what Melody looks like when she is not smiling! I was beginning to think she never NOT smiled! :rotfl2: Very pretty lady you have there :thumbsup2
Thank you Don. Now no putting moves on my wife! :lmao::lmao:

Oh yeah! Love the teaser! That is my favorite park!
Isn't it great looking down on everything in Epcot? It gets you so excited to get in and to start exploring!

Another satisfied Beverly customer!! :lmao::lmao:
I could of entered that picture in the Beverly slogan contest. I but I would have won!

Aw, I hope the little princess is feeling better. Sending pixie dust her way for a speedy recovery :wizard:.
Awww thank you. She is doing much better.

More snow? You should take pics of it for people like me that haven't seen snow yet (although it was a close call). :)
I'll take some pictures tomorrow! It is already snowing here and the wind is picking up!

:wave2: Joining in here - just did an abbreviated catch up. I followed all the links to the end, then read the comments and banter from there. :thumbsup2 Glad to hear Juliana is starting to feel better.
:welcome: Thanks for joining! Glad my links helped someone out! :goodvibes

GKTW is such a fun looking place. An online scrapbooking group I belong to did up some scrapbook pages to donate. We all did up however many pages we wanted to, sent them to the organizer of our group. We also sent money to purchase scrapbooks. I think she loaded each book with several layouts. I forget how many books wound up being donated, but it was enough that the organizer's husband was very happy when the boxes of them were finally removed from his house.
Someone else asked me if we received a scrapbook from GKTW- we didn't but on Sunday mornings they do something with creating your own scrapbook. Maybe that is where they are using all your fine work. :goodvibes

Thank you for donating! GKTW runs on donations. :goodvibes

Thank you so much. I am loving your tr....:thumbsup2
I doubt this will be done before you go on your trip.... I'm trying to speed things up here. It is hard though. :goodvibes

Hope Juliana gets better soon and enjoys the snow! Ours is all gone now :(
Thank you! We are going to have 12-20'' here in the AM. You can come take some of ours... we'll share!

Luvin the new updates as well btw. I lol'd at Juliana saying "soda isn't good for you" Luv it! I love her Mickey ears as well I want those as well :)
Thanks! She is too smart- she scolds me when I drink soda, which isn't to often, I barely drink it.

Nice update! I love that you got access to a special lounge in the ball (didn't even know those existed), which is one of my all-time favorite rides. So cool that there's a special entrance, too! All that AND a pink floor! :lovestruc
There is a Wish lounge in MK next to CP where the first aid station is and Base21 in Epcot which Siemens 'lends' to WIsh families. I think there is an area in DHS and AK too but not like these two places.

Of course the floor had to be pink with Juliana picking the colors!

Hope you are all ready for the big storm tomorrow!
I guess... I have my milk bought. :thumbsup2

I hope we get 5'!!! But I guess we will have to settle for 12-20! :goodvibes

Hope Ana is feeling better tonight :goodvibes
She is doing better... thank you for asking!

I had to come over to visit after the helpful news you gave me about the GKTW pool being heated :worship:...WOW, you are like a celebrity with your own following...
you now have another fan! :) I loved reading about your beautiful Princess princess: and wife and seeing all of the photos. I was excited to see what looked like the Castle Villas to me at GKTW...is that where you all stayed? Did you enjoy the location in proximity to other things at the Village? Lisa will be in her W/C; however, I still have a couple with mobility issues to think about...I don't want them to get too worn out before we hit the parks. LOVING your trip report and how you have a link directly to your updates, that helps a LOT! I am looking forward to reading a LOT more as you have time to post. :yay:

I'm no celebrity... I've just been around the DIS for a while and most of these people post here to humor me.:lmao::lmao:

We stayed right across from the playground... that is the newer section. We didn't request anything (I'm not even sure if you can make a request) we just ended up there. It was a short walk- about 5 minutes- away from the pool, the Gingerbread house, and the Castle of Miracles. There are some villas in the new section with a much farther walk though.

I was going to do another update tonight but I am beat. Time to hit the hay! :goodvibes

Didn't I out myself on this topic? I can't remember. I love Beverly! I am one of those rare people who thinks the taste is great. :lmao:

Good Friends and DIS Buddies, That is important! I am certain having so many to share in your Princess' wish made the experience all the more sweet! :goodvibes Evidence you are a well loved, known and liked DISer, with a great sense of humor :flower3:

A long time ago, when we THOUGHT we would be able to go on Lisa's MAW in May, I read about the new castle villas (otherwise I would never have known about them)...it seemed like a way to fulfill part of my Princess's wish, which was to stay in Cinderella's castle (which I knew was out of the question). One of the TR (It has been so long, I am unsure whose now, I poured over so many, late at night after the children were in bed) talked about requesting a castle villa, not getting it, then seeing vacant ones and asking again and being moved...I have been curious about them since then and wondered if you could request them. My princess knows we have had to move the dates for her MAW and I asked her yesterday if she woud be very disappointed if we went on her Wish Trip and it was too cold to swim. Thanks to YOU, I now know the GKTW pool is heated :), which was excellent news to me! It will still be too cold for ME :scared1:, but DH will brave it for our DD, if it IS cold :rotfl: She said to me...It will be okay Mom, I am growing up and I will have fun no matter what I get to do. :cutie: Out of the mouth of a child who has endured far too much. So lesson for me again, ask questions, learn as much as I can and then RELAX, the trip will be magical and I don't have to be in complete control...just go with the flow, what happens is what SHOULD happen. (Yes, You may remind me I said that when the time draws near and my organization is falling apart and I am about to have a nervous
breakdown) :rotfl2:

Thank you :thanks: AGAIN for sharing your vast wealth of knowledge with me! Looking forward to the next installment when you have the time. :woohoo:
:yay:

I'll take all your snow :) I love it It went here after Christmas but we had our first white Christmas here for years I don't think I've ever had a white christmas in Ireland so it was brilliant and my doggies loved it :)

You should see how much snow we have and it is still coming down! It is hard to tell how much we have but my father in law who has been out plowing said we have anywhere from 20-24''. He also said that the roads are the worst he has ever seen and has seen plow trucks getting stuck. The wind is picking up and the drifts are amazing.... 4'-5'!!! Luckily, the hospital that Melody works at canceled all the surgeries today so Melody got to stay home from work. After lunch, we are going to go out to try to shovel and to let Juliana play in the snow. I'll take some pictures and i'll post them later!

It does seem like it will be stopping in the next few hours though.

Here is the latest forecast from Storm Team 8's Meteorologist Gil Simmons

Reports of over 20" now coming in!!!!

**MAXIMUM SNOW FALLING THIS MORNING-WIND INCREASING TOO-COUPLE OF FEET IN SOME AREAS WITH A POSSIBILITY OF 30" IN SOME SPOTS...ALREADY REPORTS OF 20" IN NEWTOWN**
Good Morning! Here we go! Heavy snow falling out there and it will continue adding up through at least mid-morning. Some of the snow bands may linger a bit in to the early afternoon across NE CT. We are still expecting significant amounts. The wind will be blowing the snow around through the day today! 12" to 25" pretty much covers the state. Maybe less extreme western-northwestern areas...but one of the bigger storms in a long time! To think another shot at snow this coming weekend.....busy-busy!

Soooo... when are you making your igloo?? :lmao::lmao: Hope it ends soon! Sheesh!

WOW! That is a lot of snow! We got about 4 inches last night here in PA. Have fun and stay safe!

All I can say is that I am glad it is you and not me. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Seriously, NO ONE should get that kind of snow. I hope ALL of you stay safe and warm and dry.

When we were there last April, there was a shuttle bus that ran around the grounds of GKTW too. Its VERY important to think about how your child is using their energy. My Daniel was just so worn out, we should have paced him better - but we were so excited that he was trying to walk more. However he wore himself out and missed the last 2 and a half days of his trip because he was exhausted and not feeling well. BUMMER!!!

Whoa! Thats a lot of snow! Glad to hear that Mel was able to enjoy the day at home with you guys today. :goodvibes

I'm anxiously waiting for the snow pics. I love, love,:lovestruc snow and do miss it now that I'm in FL. I don't miss shoveling, trying to commute to work in it, and definitely don't want to fly with it, but I miss having fun in it. :)

Wowza! That's alot of snow! Holy cow! I'll bet Juliana will be loving that. We got a dusting that they were forcasting as a Nor'easter! Gimme a break, it looked like powdered sugar coming down and then turned to slush which of course is so crappy to play in!

How nice that Mel was able to say home too.:goodvibes Just think, you traded in your yard full of leaves for a yard full of snow! Ugh, don't you hate shoveling? I do. Last Feb. we got 2 storms back to back with almost 3 feet of snow. DH and I were shoveling for what seemed like an entire day. Everything was shut down around us...schools, stores, the government. But it made the best snowmen and forts, the good sticky snow that you can work with! Have fun!

Whew, finally all caught up after three attempts at it! I actually had a number of multi quotes selected the other day and ran out of time before I could comment and post, so had to just log out. Couldn't remember where I was or what I had read, so I went back to about page 16 to make sure. When I got to page 26 and was still reading familiar things, I wasn't about to quit this time without posting!!! :sad2:

Just checking in !!Am seriously planning our August trip now !! Already I have a couple of wonderful Dis Friends who I will be meeting So my "Imaginary friend list" gets shorter as I meet more Dissers !!
Don't worry Rosie, I'm just a fragment of your imagination!!! :rolleyes1
Marv was there ??:confused3:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
If I was real I would probably be upset with that comment!!! :rotfl2:
It started here about 10:15. They are calling for 12-20'' I think you guys won't have the big amounts you had last time.
So glad we could send you some of that snow! Didn't want to be stingy with it...... :lmao:

Some really great updates Tim! We love breakfast at CM; haven't tried any other meal there. And love the looks on Mel's face with the Beverly and monorail pics, but like so many others already have, I'm not gonna try hitting on her! She looks too goofy! (hope that doesn't reverse it and put you in the doghouse now.........yes I do!!!!) :rotfl:

So glad Princess Juliana is doing better!!! Give her a hug for me.

I am so glad it's not us too. We got some, but not bad and the roads are clear.

Didn't I out myself on this topic? I can't remember. I love Beverly! I am one of those rare people who thinks the taste is great. :lmao:
Now that you say it, I think you have said that you didn't mind the Beverly. Now I know what I'm going to get you for Christmas next year! :drinking1 :lmao:

I know you missed my PTR but we have been to Disney a few times before and we are planners. Our MAW really didn't give us to much info ahead of time and while it was hard and a little nerve-racking, we just went with the flow. Besides our ADRs, we just did what we wanted while we were in the parks. So I think RELAXing is key to a MAW trip. :goodvibes

We played outside for a while but I was shoveling for a few hours. I had to go shovel my mom out too. My back is tired.

Can't wait to see igloo pictures. Your poor back...hot bath (I know men don't like baths, but you'll feel so much better afterwards).
