I’m there in a few days and staying CL - I’ll need to scout out fire stairs if the main staircase is still closed… Guessing the elevator waits are really annoying right now! (@mrsap - ofc will get pics - sorry to miss you @kylenne! Hope you have a great time!)

Latest Look at Birdcage Bar Under Construction in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Lobby

We’ll start our look at the construction site from the second floor before moving to the lobby level to get a better idea of the scale of the new bar.

Disney has previously announced that construction will last through the holiday season. An opening date for the new lobby bar hasn’t been announced.

One day we all wake up to find glorious new carpet in the lobby.
I know they are doing construction, but the carpet is a real eye sore
at this point. I hope they go with something similar to the
carpet in the outer buildings.

Yes, top was on yesterday. Be warned, anyone staying in the main building - the noise right now is a lot. I’ll post more in the CL thread. Added a second picture. You can see them drilling into and discarding the marble.

I honestly wouldn’t have expected anything less than noisy right now, based on the amount of construction going on in the lobby at this time. Club level and a glass of wine (or 3) might help you ignore it lol

I booked a CL room the other day for May and the cm told me about planned work going on at the resort. Is there something else on the horizon or do they just hedge their bets when there is existing work?
