Is anyone out there doing the Winsor- Pilates videos? What kind of results have you had? Is doing the 20 min. workout enough to lose 15 lbs. or should I buy the advanced workout, too?

I have been doing the 20 min. workout faithfully for 4-5 days a week for 6 weeks and have yet to lose a pound. I can tell I have built muscle and I know that muscle weighs more than fat. ( Is that supposed to be reassuring? LOL) I am perfectly happy only exercising 20 min./day but at this pace I'm not sure it's enough. I'm thinking I may need to buy the advanced workout, too. I'd be happy to hear if any of you have had good or bad results doing this workout.

Welcome to WISH sandbar.

I've never done the pilates but I believe we have several WISHers who have. They must be busy working out right now, so I'll just bump this back to the top of the list for you so that someone can offer advice on this topic.

I hope you will join us, here. WISH is a very friendly and motivating place.

Hi! I do the Winsor Pilates 20 minute tape, but only 2-3 times a week. Congratulations on doing it so much! I think it is great for muscle toning, but I don't think you are going to lose a lot of weight with it. It is not aerobic enough. You might try her 50 minute tape and see if that gets your heart rate up. If not, try walking or some other aerobic exercise. I do the Walk Away the Pounds tapes, either 3 or 4 miles. I aim for twice a week. So far, I have lost 35 pounds, but I also eat low carb. Good luck!

I've been doing the 20 minute Winsor Pilates workout for a while and I can tell my abs, thighs and bum are firmer but I don't think you'll lose weight. You may be losing inches though - are your clothes looser?

I've done the 50 minute workout and I really don't think it's aerobic enough to cause weight loss. However, it will definitely help you tone up those abs, thighs and bum quicker!!

Have you modified your eating at all?

Best wishes! :sunny:

Thanks for the replies! Even though I haven't lost any weight yet, I am still pleased with the Pilates workout. Like you said, I do feel a difference even though I don't see it on the scale yet. I definitely feel I'm getting more muscle tone where I haven't seen it for years. I kind of forgot what it's like to feel muscle where I'm used to the flab but it's hard not seeing that scale move after 6 weeks of exercise. I know I need to be more patient and not give up.

I've been trying to watch what I eat but at age 47 (yikes!) the weight does not come off as easy as it used to. I will definitely keep it up and add more cardio to my workout. Thanks for the advice!
