A Wigdout trip report, DISmeets, Flashing Jelly Rings and Manpris, Oh MY!

I couldn't tell you. I better come up with something between now and tomorrow, though. I have to fill them out tomorrow and send them out Wednesday. I want to write, 'Your child has done nothing but busy work for two weeks while we have taken one child at a time into a corner and done some ridiculous amount of testing', but I probably won't. ;)

Now that is a truth if I have ever heard it!

I had the Berkshire Pork Two Ways...this was pork belly, pork tenderloin, with polenta, swiss chard and California peaches. Notice the nice brown topping on the meat to the left....

Isn't it a pretty presentation? I was a little worried about the substance on top of the meat but thought it had to be wonderful. I stuck the tip of my fork in and juices streamed out. I tasted just a little and discovered....
The nice brown topping was pork fat...

I have to say this was the worst meal of all times. I picked and scraped, in my book you don't eat pork fat and the tenderloin was undercooked. I'll chalk that meal up to inexperience. I had no clue what I was getting...

oh my. I can't keep up with your TR! A few weekend trips and I'm days, weeks, pages behind.

uh....pork belly?

Bleh.

Citrico's is officially off my list at the moment. UGH!

A couple of notes. In no particular order

DISmeet at SAB? So cool!

Mary Poppins rocks, nice T.

Day late fast passes? Who knew? Good info. Will retain.

Love the mickey flip flops. In both colors. Need some.

I love all the BC pics and comments. Someday the BC and I will meet. It will not be soon, but it WILL happen!

Of course I'm up to date in your official updates and yet there is still at least 10 more pages!

And so I want to sing to Skippyjon and Skippyjane. As we usually do when we read about Skippyjon....it inspires signing. Really bad singing. Not sure if squirrels would respond the same as cats who really want to be chihuahua's. (good lord, I cannot spell chihuahua, thank goodness for spellcheck).

59 second graders???????????????

pick a district, we have

BTSN
Open House
Curriculum night

all the same thing. And invariably, with 4 kids in 4 different schools, all on the same night!

Good job with the skippys...

Some seriously good bfast pics throughout, making me hungry!

And...that's it. As caught up as I can be. Must stay on top of this TR! It's like a rolllercoaster of it's own!

:)

I just had to stop in and report on DH's BTSN yesterday:

The watermelon social was a flop! (hmm, big surprise) Greg says he kept wandering into the building to get stopped by current parents who wanted to talk to him but didn't know who he was or stopped by previous parents asking what the heck was going on. They also scheduled several other events last night forcing parents to have to make decisions about what to attend.

Oh and Shocker, there was no carving and no seed spitting contests but there was...no joking...a dunk tank :sad2:

It sure enough is!

Just be warned, you will LOVE it there!

I forgot to put in the last couple of links..... sorry, it's done now!

Don't forget the "clap clap" when you sing! My singing is horrid, really horrid, but the kids don't seem to notice!

We team teach and yes, we are taking them all to the KS. State fair on Thursday!

You would think the schools could make it so they don't have their open houses on the same night, but you are right the same thing no matter what you call it......yada, yada, yada!;)

Good job with the skippys...
Thanks, I think I may miss them a little.....

Mmmmmmm, breakfast at Disney, always very tasty!

What are these people thinking? I just don't get it, and why can't a district figure out that families have kids at more than one school and they need to check a calendar when scheduling events?

The dunk tank????:scared1:
Who was in it?

Hmmn...I can't recall clapping, I may need to pull out those books! The e's officially retired them but there was NO WAY they were going to the bookstore for resale, those are keepers! And of course they still eye the new ones at the bookstore as they come out.

Oh dear, I'll probably give the evil eye to a non evil Katrina, I'd better be careful!

The whole same night thing is just insane! It's bad enough that you'd have 2 elementary schools in the same district do it on the same night but in most situations that wouldn't be an issue. However for us, one school has the hicap program pulling from 3 other schools and you would think they would be VERY aware that many families have one or more additional children still at their home school!

This happened last year and luckily they were at least at different time slots so I could run from one, to the other. This year I think they may be at the exact same time due to both boys being in splits. And of course I'm supposed to be working the general member meeting at one school that takes place in the middle of it all. I need 3 of me for this night!

Your Crystal Palace pictures are great. We love the Crystal Palace for breakfast. Those food pictures are making me very hungry. My plate would have tons of bacon instead of sausage.

It might just be in the new books...

It's the one that stands at the entrance to Soarin'.

It is just so darn busy at the beginning and at the end of the year!

Now that is more like Baylor, he's happy with a plate of bacon, and he really likes it squishy.....

SO we have a county fair tomorrow, right??!! :scared1: Have fun! Get some rest, you're gonna need it!

Tomorrow we are going to the "States Largest Classroom" the Kansas State Fair! We have 60 excited second graders, 33 parents, and 6 staff members heading out at 7:15 in the morning. The weather looks fabulous and I think it's going to be a great day! Bedtime is coming very soon....

Once again this Kansas girl is extremely jealous!! Have a great time Anita!!!!

State Fair with 60 2nd graders.....that sounds exhausting! Have fun!

Wow!

Have a great time!! I hope no one cries, tattles, trips, falls, pukes, or whines! (Man, that would be an imaginary trip, wouldn't it?)

I'm taking 112 5th graders camping for three days next week, so I know the exhaustion! :)

I'm exhausted just thinking about it!

Although I like the adult/child ratio, hopefully no one gets lost. My boys would LOVE to go to the fair this weekend....I'd love it if it were a field trip instead!

Have fun!

Soooooooooooooooo....
Did ya survive??!! ;)

can't wait to hear about your adventure today!!!

Well, I have to say that I'm a bit jealous of the Kansas girl living so close to the mouse!
Have a great time, Anita!

I am sending you some pixie dust in the hope that everyone behaves themselves tomorrow!:wizard:
The behavior was pretty good!
You brave souls!
I know, I had a hard time sleeping last night....

I'm really tired, early bedtime again tonight.

Hmmm, let's see, two criers, numerous tattles, probably some trips, but didn't hear of any falls, no puking, and lots of whining to eat lunch......
We did have to make to potty stops on the way home though! We went just before boarding the bus.:headache:

We never seem to have a shortage of adults helping at our school. Lots of involved parents. One kid wandered off with another parent this morning so we had to search our group until he was found and returned to the correct group. I felt really sorry for the mom who thought she had lost him!
Soooooooooooooooo....
Did ya survive??!! ;)

can't wait to hear about your adventure today!!!

It was a really good trip! So much went right today! I'm home and thinking that it's almost bedtime.....

Ooo...I've never been to a state fair...hmmm...I think we have one in Pa.-near Harrisburg but I'm not sure...

A Kansas state fair sounds like the real deal...:thumbsup2

What did you and the 60 2nd graders & company do there?:goodvibes

We interrupt your regularly scheduled trip report for this commercial break:

I had lunch with Hannah today. Before I left I talked to the nurse about what they do when a child looses a tooth at school. There are no treasure boxes. If they have them in stock, they put the tooth in a cheesy looking plastic thing shaped like a tooth. If they're out of those they get put in a baggy.

Now back to the trip report.

Wow!

Have a great time!! I hope no one cries, tattles, trips, falls, pukes, or whines! (Man, that would be an imaginary trip, wouldn't it?)

That's the kind of things they show on TV classrooms - all the students sitting quietly and raising their hands, standing in nice straight lines, etc. That's what tricks some young people into going to college to be a teacher. Then they find out the real truth and they are like :scared1:!

Glad you had a good time, wigd, and I'm glad your lost student was found. I know that mom was in a panic! Hope you got a well-deserved night's sleep.

When you are ready to take a walk around Hollywood Studios, come on over to the TR, because I'm getting ready to put those up in a few minutes. Enjoy your two days off!
