Don't say that! Don't say that! I have to call Sunday morning and I will just DIE if I have to be on that long.

I waited at home, then we went to school to put grades in the computer, waited at school, finally put it on speaker way low, thought I was losing my mind with the music playing over and over again...........

Something is wrong with the computer system and that is why it takes so long, this morning I called right at 6 am our time and got a cm right away, then was put on hold for 45 minutes........

Just call really early, Sunday I didn't, giant mistake on my part

NO FAIR, I never even stood a chance of guessing being on hold for ADR's!! I mean maybe one day I will have that experience but since I haven't yet, I was clueless!!!

I just knew it had something to do with how long Wigd was mad about no car rental, both after your first discussion ( though I should have known, just under four hours was probably not the actual length ) and then after her second attempt to talk you into it Shocker (well, less than an hour, I KNEW that was way too short!!!)......oh well, at least I can guess how many times they will change. Let's do some math.........she'll have about two months inbetween trips.......then she will be planning on which parks for which days, closer to to the trip, once she has park hours in hand........then she will have to consider the moves you'll be making at the resorts........she'll likely have new bags that won't "fit" at any of the places she made ADR's for...........goodness, all this planning to find out how much planning she does, to figure out how many changes will occur is wearing me out, I'll just guess A DOZEN?????

Oh and by the way, being booted from the chat room kind of made me feel "dirty"..........though it did save me from YOU and Sept. Hooray, I don't have to sweat being booted ANYMORE.........been there, done that!!! LOL I can't wait till tomorrow night when I can BRAG!!!!

I was "lucky enough" to be the very first person to make a reservation with the new dining reservation system (ala carte). Lol the cm was so excited and said "Your name is in our book, as you are the first guess to make a reservation under the new system."
Well after that I had to call every day to complete my reservations. (Nine days in a row).
I can tell you what a lot of the problem is. There are still not many cm's trained in the new system. Once they are trained, barring any maint. problems with IT that day, it is a much more user friendly/easier system to use. Until they are trained, (i.e. in training) it is much harder to use.
In my 9 days of calling I probably only talked to about 4 cm's. Tells you how few cm's were trained at that point. In fact, they would say my name and say "Oh, you're in the book. You made the first reservation using this system!" lol. They would actually be happy to talk to me...lol.
Anyway, congratulations on getting your adr's!!!

You're right -- I will have my alarm set for 6:00 on Sunday and be ready to dial at 7:00. Maybe in a week's time more CMs will have been trained on the new system. Thank goodness I already have a Crystal Palace ressie .

I am right there with you! I am glad I have a few extra days to wait and let the kinks get sorted out... How do you go about making your ADRS? Meaning, do you go day by day, the restaurant, and time, or do you give them the restaurant, and see if they have ressies available for day 1 or 2 for example? To just see availability on two days to see if you can get in? Does this make sense? I am just trying to figure out the best way to make the call --

OOPS! I am SO sorry, I just realized my question was NOT on CP's PTR! I am so sorry to hijack here! But WigD, being also so very knowledgeable, maybe you can give a novice some ADR advice, too?

Sure, hopefully Wigd won't mind me hijacking for a minute . I go day by day unless there is a restaurant that I know books quickly, then I do that one first. I usually have a rough idea of what time I want, so I start with that and let the CM tell me what is available around then. It's usually pretty easy to get everything I want, but this year will be so different since it is 90 days instead of 180.

I have back-ups in case things are booked.

I don't mind being booted when I know I deserve it, but it really upsets me when I get the boot undeservedly! And yes, you all know who you are!

OK, maybe I am "stretching" it a bit........I was kindly escorted to the hallway as Puu put it. I just prefer to say I was booted, so I can BRAG that I have been there, done that!! LOL I just stayed until the chatroom was closed. NOW, BEFORE everyone says that doesn't count.........let me have my own little party with this........I mean, I won't have any cute and fancy bags to carry at the parks, I won't get to "fine" dine....merely stand at the windows of those TS places and drool, I am new and will surely be at the wrong park on the most crowded day, I haven't gotten to stay on hold waiting "patiently" to make ADRs, I certainly won't have any manpris to start a new trend, especially if those are the only colors they come in, So other than having my "own" vehicle and being BOOTED from chat the other night, there isn't a lot I can brag about.........so it DOES count!!!

Oh, and I know we won't have "pins" to trade either, unless we trade the ones we get for First Time Visitors!!! I had actually thought about going on Ebay and buying a few like you have Wigd., but I was truly afraid we would end up doing exactly what YOU have apparently done............just buying them for "us" to keep and not to trade.........looking forward to you post to see all your new TREASURES!!!

P.S. can I change my guess for the pool to a Baker's Dozen, I just feel like that with a couple of months in there, Wigd will end up getting some additional accessories that would probably look better at other places than the ones she has ADRs for!!!!
