Animal Kingdom
This was going to be another Animal Kingdom day, which I was happy about because this was my favourite park.
We had an ADR for Rainforest Cafe for dinner, si it made sense to have a full day at the park. We all went on Expedition Everest (apart from Emilia) taking turns to go on with each other. We loved this ride but it took us a while to see the Yeti lol. We also did It's Tough to be a Bug, which was a long wait but we really enjoyed it. I think this was also the day when I got absolutely drenched on Kali River Rapids! Everyone else got splashed, while I looked like I had been for a swim - this always happens to me.
We went to Yak and Yeti Cafe for lunch and everyone was impressed with the food. The kids went for chicken fried rice and Kev had a beef main - it made a nice change and I would definitely consider dining at the restaurant on a future visit. We had some chill-out time and got some frozen lemonade. As we were walking around, we came across this lady,
We watched her for a while, amazed by the whole costume and how she moved. We wandered around to Dinoland and let the kids have a play in the shade for a while. I went on Dinosaur again - I really liked this ride. And then we decided to get some character photos at Camp Minnie-Mickey while we were on a bit of a roll with Emilia lol.
We had wanted Pocahontas' autograph but when we came back, she had gone. Wehad a bit of time left, so headed for another character spot.
Emilia opted out of this one because she didn't like King Louie's arms.
We spotted the characters from Up and got some more pics,
Rainforest Cafe
I wasn't very impressed by this place, although everyone else liked it. I liked the theming but I think I was expecting too much. I wasn't bowled over. We ordered ourselves some cocktails and mine tasted like there was no alcohol in it - so that was a major disappointment.
My meal was dull. I had a veggie burger and fries and it was just thrown on the plate, no salad or coleslaw. It just looked uninspiring. I know that Olivia had the Pot Roast, which Kev finished off and said he had wished he had ordered that as it was so good.
When it came to choosing dessert, there was only one thing that the girls wanted, so we went for the Volcano. It was impressive: chocolate brownie, cream, icecream, chocolate sauce, fudge; topped off with a 'decoration'.
The younger girls didn't touch their worms n dirt puddings, we all tucked into the Volcano. It still gets a mention in our house, even now!
The service wasn't great, my food was so-so and I wouldn't bother going back again. Having said that, I think the kids would go back just for the Volcano!
We were all tired, so headed home.
