8th November
We had nothing planned for this day, so we decided to go with the flow and headed off to DHS.
We went straight for the Toy Story ride as this was a firm favourite. We took in a few more rides and sights and then headed to Starring Roles for a spot of lunch. The older girls opted for sushi, I had the vegetable sushi (very bland), Kev had a sandwich - more meat than bread lol, and Emilia had the child's lunchbox which she enjoyed a lot. Kev had a peanut butter cupcake which was enormous and I had a Napoleon slice(?) which was like a huge cream slice - lovely! The girls had chocolate brownies. After this we wandered around for a little longer, revisiting some favourite rides and after a little bit of persuasion, I went on the Star Tours ride. This had made me feel queasy at DLP, so I was a bit reluctant. I LOVED it - the 3D element really enhanced the ride. We fancied having a bit of a rest and went to watch the Indiana Jones show, which we all really enjoyed. On the way out I dragged everyone on The Great Movie Ride. I quite liked this, especially the Wizard of Oz section. Really looking forward to Disney's 'Oz' film.
We had arranged to meet Wayne and Karen in China, so we headed to Epcot.
Epcot, Food and Wine
Once we got there it was getting quite dark, so Emilia had to have another dance on the glittery path.
We had a look around the aquarium, hopped on Soarin' and looked around Innoventions. Before too long, we were peckish so headed off to the Food and Wine festival. First stop was Greece. We had the Greek salad and Souvlaki - these went down very well. Olivia couldn't see anything she wanted, so she had fish and chips from the Yorkshire Chip shop. We then wandered around to Italy and had the Ravioli, which was also well received. Close by was Poland where I had the zapiekanki which was delicious! Kev and the girls had the Kielbasa. We didn't do Food and Wine any real justice as it was so easy to feel full quite quickly! I wanted to get some Apple Strudel from Germany but it was time to meet Wayne and Karen. I left the rest of the family eating Polish food while I went in search of Wayne.
I had my glowing Minnie ears on as identification, and pretty soon I heard someone call my name. It was great to meet Wayne and Karen as Wayne has been so helpful when I was planning this trip - he was invaluable.
We stopped and had a drink and a chat until it was time to go home.
Everyone was tired, so we headed back as we had a big night the next day - MVMCP!!
