I have gotten a week in the VAKL in April! Now, being one who can never rest, I was wondering if I should try to split the time at another place. ANy thoughts as to splitting up a week?
You would have to cancel your current AKV reservation and make a new one if you decided to go in that direction. You can't simply cancel a few days from a reservation and retain the rest. There's no guarantee of getting the same dates/accomodations once you do that. I'd sit tight, unless you don't care about your AKV reservations.

I had a BWV with BW view room booked earlier this year and needed to cancel one of the nights. The CM told me it was no problem, unlike trying to add on a night. Made sense to me.
I can see if you are trying to change the type of accommodation it would have to be cancelled and rebooked, but not to reduce the stay in the same sort of unit.

In the past, I've never had a problem removing days at the beginning or ending of some reservations; I've also added days if the same accommodations were available. The original booking wasn't canceled, just amended.
You can drop off a day or whatever and you will receive a "modified" reservation in the mail about a week or so later.
If you want to add on days at another resort, however, that will be a brand new ressie with a new confirmation form. Remember that you cannot make the reservation at 11 months out (for April 2008) unless you own points at the resort you are thinking of changing to.
Whoops! Sorry for giving out the wrong info. I've never done this but assumed (you know what they say about assuming) that any changes would void the original.
