Okay... 45 minutes to make the ME...I frantically tried to wave down our server and wolf down our dessert. We had 45 minutes to make it back to the GF to make the ME. This was doable
Unfortunately our server wasnt in the rush we were and we waited about 10 minutes before we saw him again
and then a few more before we got our card back.
We walked briskly to the monorail only to watch it pull away as we approached.
This isnt going to be good
What time is it? What exactly happens if you miss the ME?
Finally the monorail came, and we made it to the GF by 2:30
okay
5 minutes to spare
DH headed to Bell Services to collect our luggage, and I stood by the door looking for the ME
and the woman who checked us in the day before came running up to us with concern on her face
What are you still doing here? The bus left already?
Um...What??? Apparently our ME came at 2:15
not 2:35. Fantastic. Im not sure where the communication breakdown happened, so Im not blaming anyone
it just happened.
The wonderful CM whos name I didnt write down, ushered me to the registration desk, and brought a manager over. Apparently there wasnt another ME coming in time for us to hop on
That seemed weird to me, but I wasnt going to argue
I profusely apologized, and we counted our cash to take a cab to the airport. I felt responsible, and it wasnt the end of the world
Then the manager came up to us with a taxi voucher, and apologized for the mishap and told us to take a cab on the hotel.
Wow! Pixie Dust for sure.
I was very impressed how nice and accommodating the staff of the GF was. They really didnt have to help us at all and our room was free to begin with so, they doubly didnt have to help us.
I was so appreciative; and it was definitely not expected at all. We grabbed our bags and grabbed a taxi. It was an uneventful cab ride to the airport. Once at the airport, we had to jockey our bags a bit due to weight, and we decided to upgrade to business class for $40 each since it was only $10 more than coach + checking our 4 bags.
The flight was fairly uneventful, save for a really snooty flight attendant. But it was easy going. Despite our best efforts, the top tier of our cake got totally squished and was not worth saving. We did eat most of it over the next few days though.
My parents picked us up at the airport, and we made it home fairly quickly. As a wedding present, my parents had cleaned our entire house. That was awesome, because I didnt get to it before we left. My parents are awesome!
So ended our amazing wedding trip. Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I would recommend a Disney Wedding to anyone even sort of considering it. And although it was not traditional, I wouldnt have traded having DHs grandma on our honeymoon with us. It added to the one-time special-ness of the trip. I know were spoiled going to Disney as much as we do, so it was wonderful to be with someone to whom this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
So this TR is over....But never fear! Due to a wonderful combination of DVC, airline vouchers / frequent flier miles, and APs
My lovely sister and I will be spending 48 frenetic hours in the World in 11 days. I plan on starting the TR soon, so I'll post a link when I get it up.
