A way to MK

Staying at Shades of Green. Not a fan of disney transportation, would rather drive myself. How else can I get to MK besides the monorail? Can I drive, can I walk???? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. It has been 8 years since our last visit.

You can drive to the Ticket & Transportation Center, but you would still need to take the monorail or ferry to MK from there. You cannot drive directly to MK, because it is across the lake from the parking lot.

You can walk to the Poly and get the monorail there. Or you can walk to the Poly and take the boat launch that runs to MK (and the Grand Floridian).

No way to walk unless you stay at the Contemporary.

This is what I was thinking if OP wants to avoid the monorail.

I wouldn't drive to the TTC, since it would be about the same amount of walking if you are parked in a back lot.

Since SoG is next to the Poly, and Poly is next to the TTC, you could walk to the TTC from SoG. SoG has a limited bus route, which takes you to the TTC (instead of MK), in case you don't want to walk.

Regardless, you'll need to take a monorail or boat/ferry across the Seven Seas Lagoon to get to MK.

No. Parking at resorts is only for people who have legitimate business there.

Right. And they are fairly strict at CR and Poly about parking. Several times when we went for meals at these resorts, we were given a 3-hour permit. That gives enough time for a meal and/or shopping, but certainly not sufficient time to go off to MK.
