Welcome to my first every trip report!!!! After many years of reading other reports on the board, I have hijacked my DH's log in and am giving this a go! :flower1::flower1::flower1:

Ok so, here is the story. My husband Patman and I have been Disney Fans for many years, we have gone to the World 5 times and on a previous week long cruise on Magic in 2012. We have 2 daughters, an 18yr old and a 16 yr old that also enjoy Disney. This is quite the relief for DH and I , many of our family members still shake their heads and say " You are going to Disney AGAIN?" :worried:
So, here is what happened. In May 2016, we asked our oldest what she would like to do for her senior year? First thing she says " Disney cruise." Now, usually we have to plan and save to make a cruise happen, so we had to tell her that we would not be able to do a cruise this time around, so, even though she was disappointed, we decided to go on a road trip to Washington DC over spring break 2017.
Fast Forward to to November 2016, we as a family have had a pretty challenging year, my husband and I were sitting down and crunched the numbers, figuring out we could go on a 4 day cruise! :cloud9: We went thru Dreams Unlimited and booked on the Wonder from March 10-14, managing to keep the whole thing a secret from our kids up to a couple of days before the trip! I am hoping that by sharing our experience we can provide some information with others and show that, with some flexibility and positive thoughts you can make dreams come true!pixiedust:

Day one March10-March 11
Ok so I have to apologize, the sailing dates are from March 12-16, our trip actually started on the March 10. To cut some of the cost, we would all be sharing one state room on the ship, and we would be driving from South Texas to Port Canaveral, roughly 17 hours. I teach in a nursing program in the evenings, so we decided to begin our drive from home at midnight when I got home. :scared:In hindsight, this was probably not the best idea, but then again you have to do what you gotta do to get your disney done! The pros of this were we were able to get thru Houston without hardly any traffic! Patman was also able to get a rental car, so we had more room to spread out. By 5pm we were in Talahasee at a hotel for the evening, relaxing before our morning drive to the cruise Terminal. We were all pretty psyched up about going on this cruise, I was concerned the girls would not be able to sleep, but everyone pretty much conked out.I hope to be able to post pics and that later, I have to get a teenager in this house who is smarter than I to download photos

Following along. I think we might have been on your Magic sailing in 2012. That drive to Florida is a killer after sailing from Galveston!
