Thanks! We always get a good reaction and meet when we hand over the cards, though not with Rafiki (foreshadowing). It's a great conversation starter, like when we went for Halloween and gave Snow White hers, the Snow Prince was very disappointed he didn't have one lol I love that you made your own book, it must have been fantastic. Guess you also have another excuse for a Disney trip! lol

After our very fun meeting with Baloo and King Louie, we made our way to a place not normally visited by us, Rafiki’s Planet Watch. I wanted to go to the petting zoo because I’m actually 5 years old, and I thought it would be fun to get Rafiki’s card signed. We hopped on the train and headed over. On the way, when we passed the housing for the rhinos, we could actually see two babies with their mom. It was adorable and already the small trip out there was worth it.

We stopped inside to meet Rafiki first and I’ll say this was a very blah meeting. I mean, we are both wearing Lion King shirts, I was hoping for something a bit more than a two-second picture, but oh well.

We then went out into the petting zoo and I was so happy. We found this guy who looked an awful lot like Kuzco.

I absolutely love donkeys. When we were in Ireland I spent a good 20 minutes petting these two donkeys at this beautiful abbey instead of looking around lol These guys were very vocal, but no touchy, sadly.

After Cory had enough of the petting zoo, because I could have probably spent the night, we hitched a ride back on the train to go to the Flights of Wonder show. Cory loves birds and has to see this show every time.

It’s really a very cool show and is a must for us when we visit AK.


I wanted to meet Pocahontas and have her sign her card, so we headed down a Discovery Trail path in search of her.

haha Right? Too much petting makes them tired, I guess? And you have to get out there, it's adorable. It's also cool that you could potentially see a vet exam of one of the animals. We saw a stork's wings being measured.
There are very few times I feel awkward meeting a character as an adult and those kinds of CMs don't help, but our meets were much better after that

Hello all! It has been almost a month(!) since my last post and I feel awful. We have been so busy working on our house and we also got a puppy! He is incredibly amazing but takes up SO much of our time.

For dinner, we headed to Kidani Village to a favorite from a previous trip, Sanaa. If you haven’t been here yet, do it on your next trip. It is absolutely delicious and the bread service with dipping sauces is to die for! I’m drooling just thinking about it.

We had a perfect seat against the windows to watch the animals. There was even a young giraffe out.









Luckily the animals were entertaining because our waiter was SLOW and just all around not great. But the food and atmosphere completely negated any of that.

He also made up for it by bringing me the best birthday dessert. I honestly don’t even know what it was, but it had a chocolate, sparkly butterfly. It’s pretty impossible to see here, but trust me, fantastic.

We were both exhausted after dinner and just decided to head back to the hotel to relax, which isn’t something we do too often on our Disney vacations.

We immediately headed into Fantasyland as I knew I had to see the brand new queue of one of my favorite rides, Peter Pan. This is my favorite movie and I couldn’t wait to get some pixie dust.

I love how this looks in the gray, a bit more real in a way.

After our fantastic flight through Neverland, we hopped onto a trusty steed and rode the carousel. Cory tried to get a picture of me with the castle in back. This carousel is just wonderful. Riding it sitting next to my husband and best friend is one of the happiest, giddiest experiences.

Next we checked the Character Locator to find my favorite alien, Stitch! There was no wait and we had a pretty long meet.

Here you’ll see an ongoing issue we faced, Photopass photographers getting into our pictures. Cory had three or four times when he’d be taking a picture and the Photopass photog would just jump in front. I understand if you have Memory Maker, this is great, but we didn’t. And because of that, we got a lot of weird photos.

Stitch loved my shirt and earrings and Lilo bow.

While Brave isn’t necessarily a favorite movie of mine, I absolutely adore its princess and heroine, Merida. She is an especially delightful and hilarious character to meet. We discussed Stitch and how he is mischievous like her brothers. I’ve never had a dull meeting and this one didn’t disappoint either.

After Merida we headed over to the Hundred Acre Wood to meet Pooh and Tigger. I had a book with me to have signed for my best friend’s future daughter. They were absolutely delightful and loved seeing their book. I asked Pooh if he’s been practicing their stoutness exercises. He thought for a moment and then did them. It was an absolute highlight of the trip and I wish the Photopass photographer didn’t, once again, get in the way. Here’s one Cory was able to grad however.

We were on a roll with meets and being in Fantasyland there was a guy I couldn’t pass up meeting again. Having Gaston out to meet is such a smart move by Disney. He is a hilarious villain that always has the park-goers dying. I even love watching him meet others as he’s all around hilarious.

Gaston immediately took me under his enormous bicep as Cory began talking to him about his eating habits. Cory told Gaston he was only up to 2 dozen eggs, Gaston was not impressed.

After an afternoon of fantastic meets, we headed over to Hollywood Studios to use our Fastpasses on TSMM, still not getting the bear, and Tower of Terror.

I was thrilled to see the hat down. I remember entering the park as a kid and seeing that beautiful theater ahead of me. Cory has only ever seen it with the hat and he preferred the theater.

We took a bus over to the Polynesian for dinner at a favorite, Ohana.

The last time we were here was for our dinner before our dessert party and we had such a blast. I had a very delicious Lapu Lapu and was given an adorable birthday cupcake.

We probably waited about 20 mins and it is ALWAYS worth it. He is absolutely hilarious and is great with girls and guys. I do not think you or your fiance would be disappointed

haha I really enjoyed that image of a colony of beavers. I wish they did sell stuffed animals of the prizes, like what you'd get at the boardwalk and then maybe if you actually won it on the ride, you'd get a discount.

We returned to the Poly this morning for a favorite breakfast, Tonga Toast at Kona Café!

We love this so much we had it at our brunch at the Living Seas for our wedding. It is to die for.

We were headed over to the Magic Kingdom for a fastpass I had stayed up late for, Anna and Elsa, in case you couldn’t guess by my dress. And no, we didn’t match this morning. Cory is not really a Frozen fan so it was Jafar for him.

Our first FP+ was at Fairytale Hall to meet Cinderella and a favorite princess of mine, Rapunzel.

First up was the always demure Cinderella.

Then it was time for Mine Train, so we walked over, but I really liked the castle wall and the gray sky. These walls remind me of what they have in Disneyland Paris.

It looks like you had some really amazing M&G's! I love meeting the characters, it's SO much fun. I am super super sad they took away the Hiro and Baymax meet. Baymax is one of my son's favorite characters and I was really looking forward to him meeting them I am hoping they bring them back at some point - we aren't going back until Dec 2016 so a girl can dream

Did it stay pretty cold the whole time you were there? It seems like maybe the first couple of days were the worst as far as the cold goes. I am hoping the rain/cold won't be too bad when we are there. Honestly I don't mind cold but rain just makes it suck
