A Very Lurkyloo Christmas is FINISHED! New 3/16: Last Day of the Trip!

From what I can tell in the veeeerrrry chatty thread about it on the Podcast board, reservations haven't been opened to the general public yet, and it sounds like even DU customers haven't been given the form or whatever.

So now I'm thinking about totally rejiggering our plans that night so we can have the Wishes DP before the DIS party. But wait - there's gonna be food at the DIS party too! That's a whole lotta food. OK, maybe this is a dumb idea...

Also: WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH NIGHTS IN OUR TRIP FOR ALL THE SIGNATURE RESTAURANTS I WANT TO EAT AT!

I've decided we need to give Citricos another shot because the only time we've eaten there was the night we had the incident with our room at the Grand Floridian, and it kinda colored the whole stay. However, these dang signature places are only open for dinner, and we don't have room for another dinner in the schedule. :headache: I'm willing to give up Jiko cuz we've eaten there so often, but it's awfully convenient to our Evening EMH jaunt at AK...

Just things I'm stewing over on an uneventful Tuesday in September...

That majorly stinks. I like to have these things done well in advance.:snooty:

Also: WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH NIGHTS IN OUR TRIP FOR ALL THE SIGNATURE RESTAURANTS I WANT TO EAT AT!

I feel your pain. We're doing Flying Fish (I know, you aren't a fan), Jiko, California Grill and Hollywood Brown Derby (but only because it's open for lunch). If we don't do the DxDDP---I think I could technically fit in bluezoo, but only if we ditched our "whole day in the World Showcase" plan which requires us to eat at Le Cellier.

I'm willing to give up Jiko cuz we've eaten there so often, but it's awfully convenient to our Evening EMH jaunt at AK...

So I take it you are a fan? I hope so, because we are going over after evening EMH at AK also and this is probably my most anticipated Signature dinner we'll be doing. What do you usually get?

Oh yes! Jiko's in my top 3 at WDW, although I have to say last time we ate there things were not quite as superbly executed as on previous visits. But every restaurant can have an off night (it just better not happen AGAIN! :rotfl:)

Anyway, my favorite thing there is the "Maize-crusted [fish of the day] - with Vegetables of the Moment and Tomato-Butter Sauce." It has been sturgeon the last few times we've gone, but AllEars has it as Halibut in Aug. 09. Doesn't matter - it's the tomato-butter sauce and the crispy fried sweet potato curls on top that *make* the dish. >drool<

Then I get the macaroni 'n' cheese from the filet w/mac 'n' cheese as a side dish. I used to have to decide between the filet and the maize-crusted fish. Then I realized I can get a good filet anywhere, but I can't get that fish, so I figured out that ordering the mac 'n' cheese on the side gave me the best of both worlds! :goodvibes

Holy crap! I just looked at my ticker on the PassPorter boards (which won't fit in my signature here) and it says our trip is in only

2 months, 2 weeks, and 2 days! :scared1: I thought I had, like 3+ months left to get it together! :rotfl:

Carrie.........you have plenty of time girl. Calm down.:lmao: I know though I panic like that too if there are any things left up in the air & you still do have some balls in the air to juggle.

This trip will be our first time to Jiko on our first night there...........can't wait. Didn't know about the mac & cheese on the side.......hmmmm thanks for that idea. Does it still have the sauce or just plain mac & cheese?

Calm down Carrie, it'll be alright. Don't forget you and Patrick have a standing invite to our desert party the night you arrive, so you have plenty of opportunities to get that sugar buzz :thumbsup2 (Oh and did I forget to mention that we're coming your way next June? )

Well, just add more nights...

When you get the mac 'n' cheese as a side, it doesn't come with the red wine sauce. :thumbsup2 I'm so excited for you to try Jiko - I hope you like it!

Eeeeeeee! Really? That's cool! Let me know if you need any Disneyland tips! Also, I am glad to hear we still have a standing invite to the DP - don't think we won't take you up on it! (Although, if your planner is Tanis I will have to wear Groucho Marx glasses so she doesn't recognize me and bar us from sneaking under the rope!)

Well, just add more nights...

Gee, why didn't I think of that? :scratchin ...Oh yeah, because then I'll have to pay two airline change fees, take more days unpaid from work, and shell out to add more hotel nights! :rotfl2:

Carrie you are cracking me up with all the potential changes you may or may not be making in order to fit it all in. The reason why - that was me all day today! :rotfl2: I found out the DP opened on non MVMCP and so I called and got a new ressie on a new night but not really the night I wanted so then I need to shuffle and then I called later and did get the new night I wanted and to had to shuffle things back. :rotfl2: OMG C R A Z Y but was a lot of fun and now I have everything I wanted on the nights I want. :thumbsup2

I hope you have the same luck with all your wants as well. :)

OR you could eat two dinners in one night :rolleyes1

You're vacation is so close!! I've always wanted to be in AK to see the park lit up at night (especially the tree) but it never seems like I have enough night time hours when I'm at WDW :headache:.

Carrie - it seems to me the only solution is to plan another trip :thumbsup2

I'm sure I'll be begging you for DL tips, I can't believe how much info doesn't exist out there :scared1: Nope not Tanis, so you're good to go! Although you can still sport the Groucho Marx glasses, that and your big hat...photo op!

:thumbsup2

I'm in awe at all you do plan. you have plenty of time. We go in 18 days and I still have not decided on where we want to eat(or where we can actually get in)

oh and this uneventful Tuesday night is DSs 6th bday so we have been enjoying cake. I'll have to get DH to download the pics. It was just a Walmart Transformer cake but it was cake.

I third another trip.

Take a deep breath!
You have plenty of time to plan. And just remember that you have already done enough planning to make sure you have an enjoyable trip. Any extra is just gravy. (Mmm fench fries with gravy:worship:)

I just made a Jiko reservation on an AK EMH night per your recommendations :thumbsup2

Yay! I really hope you like it! Are you going before or after EMH? That's my dilemma - I'm not crazy about eating at 8:30pm, but they don't open til 5:30, which would really cut into EMH...

That's hilarious! I'm trying to decide if I should do the same thing.... if I wait too long, the parties will all be sold out and I won't have a choice. So far, I'm sticking with going on MVMCP night.

Exactly! That's why I'm breaking a cardinal TGM rule and going to EMH for the first time ever. Here's hoping everyone else will be at the Wishes Dessert Party that night! :rotfl:

Now there's a thought. 5:30pm dinner at bluezoo, 10:00pm dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse.

Talk about stuffed to the gills!!!

:crazy2: ...Although.... maybe if we got up really late..., ate breakfast at, like, noon... we could re-set our schedules, and bluezoo would be like eating lunch!

Carrie - it seems to me the only solution is to plan another trip :thumbsup2

:banana::banana: [runs off to tell DH]

I love it! Now you know PassPorter has a revised version of their Disneyland guidebook coming out next year.... :rolleyes1

Happy birfday, DS! :wave2: :cake: I can't wait to see his cake!

Also, I'll be interested to know how you fare on ADRs... and if you don't make any, how that goes. The DIS makes you think it's impossible to eat without them, and that could very well be the case during Free Dining, but maybe you can be our guinea pig! :rotfl:
