A Very Lurkyloo Christmas is FINISHED! New 3/16: Last Day of the Trip!

MrsKSomeday: That cake is ahhhhh-ma-zing! My DH2B also go nuts for that! He's another one that looooooooves the Muppets! :lovestruc (for my liking, it's missing one essential character....Bean Bunny! :goodvibes )

His birthday is tomorrow, I wish I had enough time to take those pics to a bakery to have it re-created for him! :wizard:

Bill loved the cake too, it is so detailed.

That Muppets cake is Amazing!!

P.S. if you need new contacts so do I because I haven't seen that cake before.

Thanks I didn't think I had seen it.

And great Muppets cake BTW! Why that was on CakeWreks is beyond me. :confused3 It's amazing! Carrie, you will have to get that duplicated for Patrick!:goodvibes

Sometimes Cake Wrecks shows what cakes should really be like :rotfl:.

Awww, 12/8 is our tentative wedding date for next year! Sure you don't want to push your date back 12 months so you can "crash" another DFTW??

Hee hee! How about we just go again next year? ;)

Guess what I am doing next week...having Publix recreate this MASTERPIECE!!
(just the top layer..but they are doing the almond flavor and all!![/IMG]

Oh you HAVE to post pix here, OK? :hyper:

Wow Carrie you got a great deal on your tickets!!! Can't beat that price!

Seriously! Thank goodness for the Delta credit card and its bonus miles for signing up! :cutie:

Tisk tisk Carrie---you should know better! The holiday rates start December 18th. I know this, because we are leaving on the 18th in order to avoid any holiday rate room charges You could have extended your trip for one more very cheap night. Might have to re-book those flights after all.

Not so fast, missy - airline ticket prices are higher on Thursdays than on Wednesdays, so any potential hotel savings might be eaten up by our flights! :teacher:

You will be there for my wedding on Dec 14th! I hope you can stop by and say hello.

That is awesome! So.... are you having a dessert party we can crash? :rotfl:

The first 2 tiers were vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream filling.
The last tier was devil's food cake with vanilla buttercream filling.
Both favors were delicious and so moist.
A friend of my niece's make it.
I loved that animal pairs.

Wow, she's good! And it sounds tasty too!

YAY! What a great deal on the plane tickets!!

Totally! :woohoo:

That is terrific. It doesn't matter how you got the great fares just that you are getting there without busting the bank!

Yeah, what you said! :thumbsup2 Now I feel better...

Yay :banana::banana::banana: We'll be there until the 10th!

Hey, cool! So wait - is your VR cruise before or after the land portion? (I'm calculating my chances of getting some of your leftover cake, although I think customs might have something to say about that...)

Here is my cake entry I found online at Cake Wrecks of all places (I read all 18 pages of this PTR and didn't seen this cake, it it is here please forgive me and let me know so I can get new contacts):

I *love* that cake! I showed it to Patrick again and he said loved it again too! Thanks for posting it in my pre-trippie for all to enjoy! :)

Well I wanted Bill to run her over right then and there but felt I should be "Disney like" so I told her she needed to go see Muppets 3D and inform herself.

BWAAAAAAAAAhahahahaaaa! :rotfl2: I love it! I also love all the sweet things you wrote about our trip reports! I'm so pleased we could give you four whole days of entertainment, and I only hope that the next report will be similarly entertaining! :goodvibes

Wouldn't that be fabulous? I thought the same thing, but I would worry that they couldn't re-create the characters right. Maybe I could bring some action figures of them.... :scratchin

Carrie -congrats on getting the airfares! So you will be there for Dis-A-palooza afterall!;)

However, even your $400 ticket from your last trip sounds like a great deal to me...our airfares from Canada can frequently be double that!:sad2:

Can't wait to hear more as all the final details come together!

And great Muppets cake BTW! Why that was on CakeWreks is beyond me. :confused3 It's amazing! Carrie, you will have to get that duplicated for Patrick!:goodvibes

Totally! He would freak out. And, as MrsKSomeday said, Cakewrecks features *good* cakes on... Sundays, I think it is.

Sorry to hear about the stinky airfares from Canada. I shall count my blessings (although you live in the land of President's Choice Memories of Szechwan Peanut Sauce and all-dressed potato chips, so I won't feel TOO sorry for ya! :rotfl:).

OK, so I was at the supermarket and noticed that the bakery must've just discovered neon food coloring, because it was like a clown threw up in the display case. (They also must've discovered Cakewrecks cuz they never ever risk it by actually writing on the cakes anymore.) But it was in a good way, cuz I LOVE color and I LOVE cake!

So I couldn't resist bringing this baby home with me...

photo-34.jpg

DH liked it too. And the bonus was that even the frosting between the layers was tooth-dyeing turquoise!

:hyper:

......was it actually anyone's birthday, or is it a regular habit of yours to go to the grocery store to buy birthday cakes for everyday consumption?? :rotfl2:

oh good..I can post a picture..I was afraid you would ask me to send you a piece...that would be hard!

That is awesome! So.... are you having a dessert party we can crash? :rotfl:

*hehe* No because we are having a night wedding with the reception in the Napa Room we get to see the fireworks right from there and eat wedding cake but I will be at the GF for pictures before the wedding about 4 or so. You can come crash my pictures! :rotfl:

Sorry, VR is after land stay....no cake for you! I'm sure Laura will share her's with you! :rotfl:

no..customs will not let you take cake off..You don't want poor Jen to get arrested just to satisfy your cake addiction!!

First off here's my admission:

*Not my cake, but it is inspiration for DF's groom's cake for our at-home reception, he's a HUGE Metallica fan :cool2:

Second I have say  Carrie and Patrick are gonna be at WDW in December! You totally just made my trip! :goodvibes But I have one complaint Miss Carrie, if you arrive at WDW on the 8th, how are you supposed to crash my wedding unless you arrive really early? :confused3 I guess you'll have to crash my DP instead :thumbsup2

Seriously, I really hope that DF (well he'll be DH by the time you arrive) can meet up with you two. I'm in the same camp with some other DIS'ers and keep dropping your name around DF, although he knows I have online buddies so he doesn't think it's too weird  Can't wait to read more.

I can't believe we were going to be in Disney the same time you are Carrie before we changed the dates about 15 times :sad2:.

:rotfl:I was wondering the same thing! :rotfl2:

Well, gee, what's the point of being a grown-up if ya can't buy a mini birthday cake just because you want one? :rotfl2: It wasn't that big, anyway - just 4 inches across and enough for four tiny pieces. :thumbsup2

oh good..I can post a picture..I was afraid you would ask me to send you a piece...that would be hard!

I'm OK with just the picture - not a fan of almond flavoring! (Now if you'd said it was gonna be peanut butter and chocolate.... ;))

 Watch out - we just might!

Sorry, VR is after land stay....no cake for you!

 OK, at least tell me what flavors I will be missing out on... :teeth:

no..customs will not let you take cake off..You don't want poor Jen to get arrested just to satisfy your cake addiction!!

:duck:

:rotfl2: OMG that would by hysterical! Can you imagine? :lmao:

Yes. Yes I can. :cutie:

Aw nuts! When are you going now? And are you planning any trips to Disneyland next year? :)

Aw nuts! When are you going now? And are you planning any trips to Disneyland next year? :)

We are going Nov. 4 - Nov. 11th, taking my son, his g/f and her two kids :scared1:.

Bill, my lovely significant other is in a power wheelchair - he has Cerebral Palsy. He has been to WDW 11 times, I have been 6 now and we have NEVER been to Disneyland, can you believe that? I want to do the "Walk in Walt's Footsteps" tour, I think that is what it is called. It just seems a little overwhelming with transportation etc because of the wheelchair. I will talk him into it one day, I wanna see the original park!

Sorry for typing so much, I seem to do that a lot :sad2:.

Wow Carrie . . . that cake looks like it would be colorful going down as well as, ahem, coming o-u-t.

i went to publix and gave them another picture of my cake and talked to the baker about adding just the right amount of almond extract..she was very excited to make a disney wedding cake...if it turns out good, maybe we see if the can make a mini lurkyloo peanut butter mousse and chocolate cake...you know..I am only 3 hours south..isn't cake worth a 3 hour tour??

All the cake talk, made me realize that I never submitted my admission! :rotfl: Here you go!

Picture128-1.jpg

I cannot take credit for this, one of my best friends made this for my niece's Sweet 16. It was a beach themed party. Inside it was poundcake with strawberries and buttercream. It was delish!

So I went by the bakery section yesterday...

...and picked up a giant cupcake! :banana:It was sooo good! And in my defense I got a huge, unexpected raise yesterday and an unexpected bonus check so I did have something to celebrate :). Although I made up a big fat lie when the cashier and bag guy asked me what I was celebrating :rolleyes1.
