I think that if I were in her situation, it would offend me for someone to send me this. I'm not nearly as big as she is and I get a little ticked when people send me diet stuff unsolicited.
If we had been discussing this topic recently, then I would send it to her but I haven't seen her in a long time. She has too much trouble walking now to attend family gatherings anymore
Her husband has always been a very small person and suddenly began gaining weight and is actually eating a controlled carbohydrate diet. So it isn't as though she doesn't know about the plan. She just refuses to try it so far. I'm not sure why.
I imagine she will eventually try Atkins or something similar. My husbands mother and sister were so impressed with our success and health improvement eating controlled a carbohydrate diet that they, too, have started eating this way. They live in Houston and so does his cousin. I'm hoping they will be able to let her know about the benefits.
I only hope and pray that she decides to try something like this before she is totally disabled or, worse, before she has a heart attack or stroke. The genetics for something catastrophic like that happening are in place, her father died of massive coronary at age 38

(and he was a normal weight person).
I will bide my time and when the time is right I will send her a link to that success story. I know a large part of her resistance to trying another weight loss plan is because she has so much to lose that she doesn't have the heart to even try anymore.
Thanks for posting the link for us, Jody. It was a wonderful story to read.
