A Very Duggar Wedding

The show is on TLC right now where Josh and Anna get engaged and married!!!

Yay they can finally have their first kiss...

I know what you uare talking about...but they are not your average folks either, so maybe that is why. I did not love those bridesmaid dresses and kinda thought since it was televised that maybe it would be a bit more extravagant, but it was kinda plain.

I don't want to start anything about families being on tv (some say selling their lives), but maybe being a little plain was showing that any amount of money didn't make them change their beliefs & likes/dislikes. I have watched this family since their first special and, of cours, we don't see what happens behind the scenes, but they seem to be pretty concrete in their belifs and way of life. I give credit to those who can maintain their beliefs (whatever they may be) in any situation in this crazy world!

And seriously how many great bridesmaids dresses do you see??? Aren't they supposed to be blah to make the bride look better?

I think they need some more Cousin Amy injected to spice things up.

I don't want to start anything about families being on tv (some say selling their lives), but maybe being a little plain was showing that any amount of money didn't make them change their beliefs & likes/dislikes. I suppose that is the case..as for cousin Amy I normally really like her and think she is funny, but it sooooo was not cool for her to shove cake in Josh's face like that and I am glad he threw cake all over the front of her dress. I thought that was pretty tacky of her.

I agree it is a bit different than most of us are used to but that is their way of life. I think the plain wedding proves they are not necessarily doing the show to make a fortune like Jon & Kate plus 8. I think it is amazing they did it in such a short time...be engaged and then have the wedding so soon, but if I was waiting on my first kiss (among other things LOL), I would not want to wait either and that is exactally waht Josh said.

I also agree. That girl should not have thrown the cake on Josh and she got what she deserved.

I loved the show. One of my best friends share many of the same believes as the Duggars so when I watch it reminds me of their family.

I thought cousin Amy looked pregnant or has she gained alot of weight?

I dvr'd it and watched it this morning. I thought it was fun to watch. I think the logistics of coordinating all the family involved is interesting.

I have a question though, did I see cousin Amy throw cake at them when they were doing their cake cutting?? Did she really get right in there and steal their cake cutting thunder?? lol

Am I the only one who was a bit bothered by the ungentlemanly gesture by Josh of going into the hotel room as Anna followed with the suitcase? Even my clueless DH on our wedding day would have taken care of the luggage and let me in the room first.

I agree about the cousin Amy. I like her, but the cake thing was inappropriate. I also didn't like the way that her dad was talking about the transfer of authority to Josh. Authority? Whatever....And the kiss thing was so weird, even I felt uncomfortable. Especially the way that JimBob got up on stage and announced it. And then when they did kiss, it looked like Josh totally attacked her! LOL! It was kind of funny! Did anyone else see that? Also, does anyone know what they are doing now? Does he work? I'm assuming she doesn't. Where are they living? And we should really start a pool as to when everyone thinks she will be pregnant. It wouldn't surprise if they are very soon

Maybe someone should have told Josh to practice kissing on the back of his hand. Or watched The Wedding Singer to see that you should practice kissing beofer in the church (you know the scene where Drew and Amad kiss to she the sister which kiss is appropriate for a church).

Authority??? (like I said haven't seen the episode) Well, DH wanted to ask my father for my hand...I was 23, living on my own and asked him is my dad said no did he think I would go by that. So he proposed without even meeting my parents. When we called to tell them, DH asked dad if he was fine with it and Dad said sure take her...DH think he was willing to get rid of me a little too quick.

Josh does work I believe. There was the one episode when they came back just after being engaged. I think he works at a car lot. And they showed a house (kinda run down) that was his grandparents rental house...don't know if they bought it or were just going to rent it, but he was talking about fixing it up. She's moving up from FL.

Yeah, I was thinking that if they really follow the whole let things happen as it may thing, and they don't have any fertility issues, they should be pregnant soon if not already.
