Hi to all my DIS friends!! First, I want to apologize for being away from the DIS for so long. I have missed being on here so much. These past few months have been extremely difficult and busy for us so please bear with me as I update you!

Soon after my last update Brent and I felt God leading us to leave our church. It was actually the weekend of the 4th of July that we sat down and made the decision to search for another church home. It was one of the hardest decisions we've had to make. We had been at our church for 9 years--most of our married life and the girls grew up in that church--their closest friends were all there (ours as well--we had such a tight-knit Sunday School Class). We started searching for a new church home mid-July. We had to deal with a lot of questioning and assumptions from people who didn't understand our decision--it was very emotional to say the least. But God was so good and faithful--He led us to new church home fairly quickly. My prayer was an easy transition for my girls and I couldn't believe how nicely they found their place. The first Sunday we visited they begged to come back! The Children's and Preschool Ministries are incredible!! My girls love going to church again and we couldn't be happier! Brent and I fit right into the choir (which is AMAZING) and we were even able to go on a retreat to Branson with our choir over Labor Day weekend! (If you're on FB you can see several videos of Brent,m e, and our choir) It took us a little while but we've found a wonderful Sunday School Class that has welcomed us with open arms! I was even able to get Claire into their Mother's Day Out Program. We were put on a waiting list in July (they fill up in Feb.) and got the call just a few weeks later that Claire had a spot in the Older 2s class! She goes 3 days a week and tumbling and Kindermusic classes are included with tuition (next year she'll start Spanish as well!! So God's hand was in all of this from the beginning. It's neat to look back and see how He worked everything out for us!

Another big update is that same weekend (4th of July)--we received a contract on our house!! We sold our house to a couple from Ohio. They have a little girl and the wife got a job at the high school here in town. We ended up closing at the end of July!! PTL!! What a huge burden taken off of our shoulders--no more double house payments!

School started the first full week of August. Ally got the teacher that I had requested and she is AMAZING!! She is going above and beyond to challenge Ally and to work with her on her level. Right now Ally is doing a 3rd grade Apex (gifted program) book study on "Freckle Juice." In our school system kids aren't accepted into the Apex (gifted) program until the 3rd grade. So the Apex teacher is working with Ally's teacher--it's incredible! Oh--and I have been busy serving as the Room Mom again for Ally's class and I'm on the PTA board this year!

Claire's birthday was October 10th and she turned 3!! Where does the time go?!

Well, I've got to get off of here for a bit. Brent and I are headed to Jackson, TN for a scholarship banquet at my alma mater, Union University. Laura Bush is the speaker this year. After the dinner and her speech we get to meet her and get our picture taken with her!! Soooo excited!!

Anywho, I'll be back on later tonight and I need to update ya'll on my trip planning! We are at 39 days and counting!!

HI BECKY!! SO glad we are both back I think you know what is best for you and your family. I know it was hard, but you are obviously very happy with your new church. We had the same issue moving Abby to her new school. God moves us to do things in our lives that are all for the best. Can't wait for your post tonight! I want to get another one up too. EXCITING
